East Brighton Vampires under-16s football team celebrate with strip show

A STRIPPER was ordered in as part of wild premiership celebrations for a group of junior footballers in Melbourne's south.
The teenagers from a Bayside football squad lapped up the adult entertainment after a grand final triumph, the Herald Sun reported.

The Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League is investigating the bizarre incident involving players from the East Brighton Vampires under-16 football team.

It followed the side's official premiership party at a Brighton hotel.

Vampires president Greg Wallace confirmed an adult entertainer had been present but was not sanctioned by the club.

"A group of players and other acquaintances moved to a private home where they (held) a private party," Wallace said.

"Alcohol was consumed ... and there was adult entertainment in the form of a stripper.

"We do not condone adult entertainment which degrades women," Wallace said.

"It has no place in the community, let alone among minors."

Wallace said the club would grill its members and take disciplinary action where necessary.

Australian Childhood Foundation spokesman Joe Tucci said it was a terrible example to set.

"Winning a grand final is a milestone but to celebrate in that way is not right, he said.

"Its also just a really disrespectful experience, disrespectful to women and the players and not what a club should be about."

MSJFL general manager David Cannizzo has asked the club for a full explanation of what happened following the team's last game of the season on September 4.

"I want to make it clear that we expect all players involved in end of season celebrations to behave in a responsible and lawful manner,'' he said.

"This is the responsibility of not just clubs but also players and their parents."

didnt something similar happen in one of the leagues in SA a few years back?

although i think from memory it was a stripper before the game to pump the players up! safe to say a bunch of U/18's would have been very "pumped" up.

No that was some metro Melbourne club that did that at their league's headquarters change rooms before the game.

I have been involved with a side that has hired such entertainment after the game. We were all over 18 and we had an awesome social time as well.

Their senior team could have used the, ahem, 'inspiration' today.
They got belted by ten goals in today's Southern Football League Grand Final.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.
