Applications close on the 23rd of September its only the 15th today so no announcements till then on our coaching job.

On another note the 2 goal umpires who probably made the biggest error I have seen in life have got the "A Grade" match on the weekend. A little reward for their previous efforts? Obviously goal umpires in this league have no repercussions when they cant do a simple job properly. Dont let Gerald over rule you this week Bob.

No spoke to Gerald yesterday and it was the other way around. Changing the story on a daily basis makes it harder to find out the real story

No one has mentioned the times team of the year today looks a pretty impressive line up with a good spread of players from different clubs in it. If only the typo error was true for strath. Nathan eagleton was listed in the midfield instead of his younger brother jonathon would be very handy for this weekend. Can anyone think of players that should have been included in the team of the year that didn't make it? Wes glass pretty unlucky, would have had pratt starting on the field and maybe loccy mcgregor up fwd instead of miegel maybe? Only club that weren't represented was goolwa.

Goal umpired a match with him about 20 years ago, he signalled a goal, got his card out, marked the goal down and that was it. I was down the other end with my 2 flags waiting for him but it never happened. On questioning him at the next break, he denied it, that he had forgotten to wave the flags and said that he'd NEVER made a mistake. Enough said.
Until others put their hands up to be available for finals, the same fellas will get the job.

More than happy to do it. I'll be there watching so I might as well stand behind the goals, watch and at the same time take home $30

Thought Loots was lucky to make it, would definitely have Pratt on the field instead at very least. Put McGregor or Portlock ahead of Lewis.
Thought Haskett was lucky to get captaincy, though Willunga did finish top so can't fault that too much I guess.

Tip of the day if you are at encounter bay oval. Pack the car up, get to hahndorf and watch the hfl gf. 10,000 people quality football. Unbelievable stuff. Really puts or gf's to shame

In What way does it put ours to shame?
Crowd wise?
Quality wise?
Venue wise?
Wheres the 10,000 figure come from?

Myponga won the 'B' grade.

'A' grade 1/4 time
Strath 4 - 4 (Kicked with a strong wind)
L.Ck 2 - 4

Crowd wise, atmosphere wise. Crowd is an estimation based on a parade Friday night crowd. I'll say 8-10k people confidently. Footy looks to be a better standard too but conditions are a lot better than the bay

Not knowing what the ruling on that is, or even if one exists.
Think common sense would apply and the Creeks will have the HOME change rooms.
Put it this way, if clubs are not concerned about playing Grand Finals on clubs HOME ovals, i don't think they'd be worrying about which room they get changed in.
Reguardless of that this has the makings of one of the GREAT Grand finals.
Reports are that the Creeks have got through todays prelim final FREE of injury and with Hill and Norman likely to be available next week, the Creeks will be fielding their strongest team for the season to take on the well rested and perennial Grand finalists Willunga.
Willunga would've been certainties to start favourite BUT i think the Creeks will challenge strongly for that mantle during the week.
It's hard to believe but whilst Willunga have won 6 of the last 7 Premierships, L.Creek have NOT LOST to Willunga on the Creek oval in that period.
A good stat for Willunga in that period is that they have beaten the Creeks in 3 Grand Finals.
As for a tip, well i think the Creeks have the most talented team of the two sides and their home record may see them get over the line.
