Bulldogs or observer any comment on this?

Dr Turf, I am not going to comment on peoples characters etc.
Unfortunately community cricket as a whole has changed dramatically over the years if you believe some of the stuff you read on here and different competition forums.
The amount of money that gets mentioned just blows me away and reality is if true will continue to create disloyalty.
What I find extraordinary is people that look for coin well beyond their abilities.
Certainly not saying Scotty is in that basket as he can seriously play.
What Pooraka will learn is that cricket is not Scott's highest priority in life so expect some missed games and spasmodic training.
Hopefully this does not cause too much unrest with blokes that are playing for the club and getting stuff all..

Ingle Farm have been burn't one too many times now in trying to "keep up with the Jones's" and probabaly now need to go back to looking after their loyal own people.
If this sees them drop away a bit, then as disappointing as it will be, I am sure it will make the club a better place to be in the long run...

If getting a few hundred bucks to play cricket is a major priority for people then that is their call..[/quote]

Im pretty sure Scott just came back from playing cricket for four months in England so to say cricket is not his highest priority in life, i cant work out?
And im sure some people have changed clubs before Interested Observer?

Correct B&S.
After retiring in 1999 was coaxed out of retirement by a very close mate who was coaching another premier grade club at the time.
In hindsight a move that refreshed and allowed me to play on for another 10 years eventually going back home to my first club. for the last 5.
2 clubs in 16 years of Adelaide turf is not too bad I reckon.
Particularly in comparison to some some people I know hey mate !!! ;)

That was an ordinary comment Bulldogs but you have always been an emotional person.

Scott Strangio is a lovely bloke and it should not get personal.

Playing for 3 ATCA clubs in 4 years that are within 3km of each other probably just creates a cloud of emotion...

yes it was ordinary and that is why i have taken it back and do apologise. I was just a very dissapointed man last night andlet the emotion take over. Yes Scott is a good fella but i believe he has let himself down in this instance. Every man can make there own choices but if you have said i am 100% on board and then a month later decide to move on i think you should at speak to the club you are leaving face to face or at least make a phone call. we have been planning our season around scott being the strike bowler and to be left in the lurch 3 weeks before the 1st game without communication (apart from a FB msg) has left a very bad taste in my mouth.once again i do apology for the remarks i made.

Stama, Jimmy, McInnes, Pfitzner, Fracka, Strangio, Mclean??....anyone else leaving??
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

Surely the clubs that "sign" blokes like Fraka and Strangio cant be to confident of retaining them for too many years!! Once the club cap gets a bit sweaty time for a new one..................................club that is!!

If blokes are enjoying their cricket on and off the field they generally stay put. You guys have a fair turnover of recruits.

Don't most cubs have a turn over of recruits?? Having played at Ingle Farm in the past there not a bad bunch of lads to have a beer with after the game or during the week.

Not really, I'd be pretty concerned if my club attracted players only to have them leave a season or two later, especially if you're handing out good coin. We'd rather see better incentives for the youth that we have to try and retain them and help us out for the future than fork out for a fly by nighter.
