Quite bizarre really hey, would've thought there would've been more considering there's a fair few brothers that have come throught the ranks together.

Khawaja will probably be dropped now. :(

But he's showing so much promise.

In his 5 innings, he hasn't dropped below 21 (13* last innings...), yeah he hasn't gone on with it, but he's showing so much class and poise. STICK WITH HIM!!!

One of our biggest talents, probably going to be dropped, when he's done very little wrong. :(

Time is on his side though, I don't think we can afford to not go with who's in form atm, he hasn't looked that comfortable at this level yet. I'm not saying discard him, I'd just stick with Marsh for the time being, Usman has had the taste, keep him in the mix and I'm sure he'll prosper out of it.

Many have whinged for so long that form wasn't getting a game - now's the chance to reward form and send the bloke who's "almost there" back to domestic cricket to see if he can improve. Good position to be in.

There are a number of options. I always like the idea of not putting more pressure on than is necessary and make players aware that they will be given time to prove themselves. I think the culture that some countries have had of dropping players too fast puts far more pressure on than is needed and forces players to get desperate and selfish. So since Hughes and Khawaja have really only just been given their spots I would really like that they be kept. But Ponting's record demands he comes back in when available, while Marsh has made it incredibly tough to drop him. Maybe they might think about asking Ponting if he is keen to spend another week at home with the newborn and run with the same team? Gives all 3 guys 2 more (hopefully) hits to clarify things.

My proffered option is for Hughes to get the DCM, though it will likely be Khawaja. Unsure of Harris' injury, if he will play.

I would sooner see Punter back at three, bump Marsh up to open with Watto, and straight swap Harris for Siddle if a change gets made there.

I get sick of repeat posting sometimes... ;)

As much as I agree with the above, and as much as I would love to see it, Ponting will not drop below number three for the remainder of his career.

When he cannot justify number 3, he'll call it a day/be dropped, but there is not a hope that he will be batting in the lower order.

You can't justify it now.
