For me if everyone stays fits and Spurr and Gowans are right to go the side i would like to see is.

F: Williams Havelberg Callinan
HF: O'Sullivan Hayes J.Gowans
C: O'Hara Goodrem Jenner
HB: Barmby Templeton Sansbury
B: Reichart Hardy Spurr

R: Sutherland Thomas Boyd
INT: Hannath C.Gowans Habel/Schiller

If Sutherland is suspended then Hynes comes in imho.

Niether of those 2 players will have a run in the reserves this week whufc, the club has ruled them out from doing so:

Warren Partland in Localfootysa wrote:"The Bulldogs will also have nine-times premiership player Chris Gowans and defender Lee Spurr ready to return from injury.

The club has already ruled out an appearance by the pair in the reserves elimination final".

Good to see that the lads who got the ressies through to the finals will be the ones to play in them.

Just saw the replay of the Sutherland report. Looks like it was in the shoulder so I reckon he'll be ok. The Norwood one (Campbell?) looks much worse, but it's not the classic forceful front on bump, he was sliding in to get the ball. Regardless though, he bumped a player in the head so I doubt he'll escape a suspension.

its funny, footy clubs strive to recruit these types of hard nuts as they are so valuable to the team, but the rules are going in the opposite direction!

You've always had to have some toughness about the way you play and have some blokes tougher than others while keeping it within reason. Pumpa does push the boundaries a little, but he manages to control himself enough for the most part. These guys will still be important in finals so you've just got to cop the odd suspension I think.

Sutherland was a hip and shoulder ( to the side) as most have mentioned. Should be thrown out.

If either of these Boys get found guilty then the game has lost the plot

Hughes went in lower than his opponent and had eyes for the ball FFS. As for Pumpa - almost the perfect bump.

The fabric of our game is slowly being torn to shreds sadly, however it will take a Judd or Ablett to be robbed of a Brownlow before anyone at AFL House wakes up to it...
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

That one looks like it'll be interesting to me. He clearly bumped a guy in the head who had his head over the ball, but usually the guy bumping is going for the bump, not trying to get in low to win the ball. The fact that he's got him I'd suggest will get a game but like you I'd be happy if they let him off because he was clearly going after the ball. Free kick any day of the week, suspension if he's not going for the ball first and foremost but I fear it won't go down that path.

On the SANFL site, both are listed so neither got withdrawn. I thought Sutherland's might have after a look at a replay.

I said Campbell in another post, but seing as it was pretty obvious who it was I decided it wasn't necessary to correct it. So long as the SANFL know which player is the right one. Lol.

Could the Sutherland suspension be the path that opens up for Daniel Schell to return, that would allow Hardy to play as a second ruckmen or even Schell himself could pinch hit as a second ruckmen.

Schell's knee is stuffed and he can hardly run, let alone jump in a ruck contest !!!

I think Schell is an option to give a contest and no more if we're in that much of a pickle. It was always very unlikely he'd actually play, but with Matt Westhoff only just coming into the league side after injury, Havelberg and Hayes both out injured at the time there was a massive chance all 3 could have been struggling for finals. Now it looks like we'll have 2 of them up and running.

IF and I mean IF, as a last resort Schell was picked to play, he'd have to be a stay at home full forward where his size, skill and experience would still make him dangerous as a tall forward. But anywhere else around the ground his lack of game time and fitness would have him totally knackered and useless in 15 minutes

Pumpa Sutherland is free to play in the 2nd Semi now after his tribunal hearing this evening so Schelly wont be needed.
