The Best Possible League in SA Football

Postby mickey » Fri Mar 30, 2007 1:08 am

With all the talk about what division from what league has the best standard, what about making the best possible 10 team Division. Obviously not worrying about travel or anything.

For example:
(by the way i know sweet FA about the country leagues)

Goodwood Saints
Adelaide Uni
ROC
Barossa Districts
Gaza
Morphette Vale
Encounter Bay
-
-
-

And any possible thoughts of a Div 2

If it was a ten team "best of" comp, you'd have to have 1 team at the very least from Mt Gambier given that WBFL is the best standard of football in the country, only just behind A1 amatuers.

BJE and GWW you are cocked chooks, lets go on current form you idiots.
Encounter Bay FC just beat Lucindale, Encounter had 8 A'graders missing and Lucindale had 2, Encounter won by 8 goals but somehow no good.

Look up and think would ya!

Best way to do this is for everyone to vote there top choices only, then the top ten teams with the most votes win.

Yes Imps for consistency but they really haven't cashed in with their GF appearances. I think they've played every grand final since 1997 but have only won about 3. Jervois winners of last 3 premierships would be more worthy, although their previous 15 years before winning in 2004 weren't up to scratch.

mt lofty, uraidla, morphett vale are the best 3 teams i have seen play.
jervois may be good in the rmfl but they got a belting from lofty and looked pretty ordinary. i reckon about 4 div 1 hills sides would beat jervois.

You could be right there rb, but Jervois will probably not be as strong this year compared to the previous 3, they've lost a few quality players. The side they had in 2005 in particular was very impressive

They've been a quality side last 3 years, but you are probably right though, Hills league a fair bit stronger than RMFL.

Hehe what was the quality of the opposition like though. I dont think Callington will worry too many teams in the Hills country div this year.

RMFL is a pretty weak competition, but each side has a few very good footballers, but there weakest 5-10 players in the As struggle
