Was it really as close as that half time score suggests???

Now come on Ireland

Yeah it was, even though Australia dominated the possession the Italians played a hang onto the ball game with no flair and the Australians got smashed in the penalties, something like 15-9 overall probably due to having an Irish ref and the difference in interpretations from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern and its something the Wallabies will have to get used to. The Italians also have a bloody big pack!
Always expected the Aussies to win but the 2nd half was probably a bit better than expected and good to be able to clear the whole bench for a bit of game time.

Good luck with the Irish game today JAS, but I'm not wishing you any for next weekend! ;)

Thought the Azzuri's front pack did fantastic today, Italy where clearly just trying a slow power game with hope of getting there points off kicks. Italy did do quiet well and may get into the next round if some luck goes there way, I will be happy with a few wins and a best of the rest type thing.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

The Wallabies winger Digby Ioanie who got man of the match broke his thumb during the game and will miss at least the next 2 games.
Shame as he's been awesome recently but might give the selectors one less headache.

The Tonga/Canada game was a ripper, Tonga will be very disappointed with that effort.
People might think these teams have nothing to play for but that isn't the case as 3rd in groups assures that country of participation in the next World Cup avoiding the elimination rounds with other qualifyint countries.
Scotland looked very unimpressive but got the job done.
Georgia's defence was pretty good but they made a heap of errors and if they cleaned up their game a bit they'd have beaten the Scots. Nice goal kicked by the Georgian goalkicker too from inside his own half!

From what ive seen of the European sides the majority are rubbish. Scotland were diabolical today, lucky they were only playing the lowly Georgians.

Wallabies sticking with their full strength side for the Irish on Saturday.
O'Connor replaces the injured Ioanie and Drew Mitchell gets a spot on the bench for his first test this year.
Great effort by Drew to get back. The sight of his ankle shattering earlier in the year against the Reds for the 'Tahs was sickening!

Looking forwars to the "Cold war" match tonight!
