Funny you say that, I heard Mark Thompson before the game on radio and I had the same opinion. He almost said that they were satisfied with just making the finals.

I think they were under no illusions, we were making up numbers and probably didnt deserve to make finals. Ill back up the club as i think today was a stepping stone for a young side who are only going to improve over the next few years, need to fill a couple of key positions and and a bit more pace but at least i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately due to an illness in the family i was unable to go over, gave my tickets to a couple of mates who were heading over so i hope they got some decent coin for them.
Looked fantastic on TV, we were never in the hunt, should have been over after 3 minutes. The thing that stood out for me today was the contested marks, we dropped everything and Carlton took pack marks all day, you know its not your day when Judd gets airborne and takes a great mark :(
Carlton pace and skills were several notches above us and thats exactly what i expected, really big gap between top 5 and rest and 8th doesnt deserve to play finals. The only consolations for the day was that we have improved the margin on our last finals effort and we dont have to get embarassed in Perth again

AFL decide in finals (not including the GF where I think their is a coin toss at the Carbine Club between presidents for who wears what, well there used to be anyway).
As West Coast elected to wear their guernsey with white in it, it made sense that the AFL gave them the white shorts.
I would have preferred to have seen West Coast in their traditional royal blue guernsey.

I agree. To me, the royal blue guernsey is West Coast. It seems to have become their second choice these days. The navy strip clashed with Carlton and the white shorts made them predominantly navy and white which is Carlton's colours.

WC in royal blue with blue shorts and Carlton in white shorts would have looked better IMO.
In between signatures .....
