Anyone know if the Cats are a monty for the Friday night Prelim?
There's a Motley Crue/Brett Michaels/Doc Neeson concert on the Saturday night in Melbourne I want to get tickets to! :D

I reckon Geelong will play the Saturday Night Prelim.

Next Week should be:
Hawks v Swans or Saints - Friday Night
Collingwood or WCE v Carlton or Essendon - Saturday Night

Then the Prelim's would be:

Collingwood or WCE play the winner of the Hawks Semi - Friday Night
Geelong would play the winner of the other Semi - Saturday Night

This way there wouldn't be any 6 day breaks to any of the teams going from second to third week of finals..
It's Somma Time!

If Collingwood win this week then they'll play Friday night otherwise the cats will, it's all about the break going into the GF for the highest placed side

Interesting game last night. Anyone heard anything about the Franklin injury? Looked bad and they seemed to be struggling enough to find another target up forward, this could very well be the end for them.

Also Geelongs big men up forward, even in the conditions were just to good for an undersized Hawks defence.

Menzels injury was a shocker, feel for the kid and for Geelong as well as with him in the team that Forward line had some serious depth around it. Him and johnson were able to paly either tallish or small. Really added to the dynamic forward line.

Geelong will play on the Saturday night either way i reckon. Even if Collingwood lose today, they will play the prelim in Perth on the Friday I would say, due to the travel factor.

Give it to Geelong right now,

this season is good as over.

Pies are only a above decent. You can't beat Geelong with Dawes and Brown in your team. Geelong will restrict the run of Shaw/Obrien. Ling will sit on Swan and the pies will go to water. Cloke is not a big game player at all. Didak is soft frontrunner, Doughnuts Davis.

Collingwood were good enough to beat us today. We now have a final at home before we think about anything else.

West Coast will win next week but wont get near Geelong IMO
Cant see Kerr being back, posted a couple of weeks ago that he has 3 broken vertebrae and wont play finals.

Agreed, if he didn't play today, can't see him returning next week.

Collingwood are more than 'above decent'. They are still a bloody good side.

The last time we played them we didn't have to worry about Shaw and Davis played OK today I thought. Jolly is a concern for them but he showed heart as well. Then there is this bloke called Daisy Thomas who can play a bit and we've lost a kid who bagged five goals against them last time. And that's if we get past the Prelim.

Ling will go to Ball or Davis. Doesn't have the engine to go with Swan.

I do worry about Dawes though. He does a lot of excellent work off the ball, but the fact he isn't clunking big grabs and booting goals is a worry.

Collingwood will be harder to be in the prelim now. Some of there battered players will get the extra week to get themselves right. Shaw got some game time back into him and looked good. Ried and Thomas will be back and Tarrent and Maxwell get another week to rest up.

We on the other hand need to get Cox right, really struggled when he went of, but take nothing away from the pies they are good and like I said they will be very hard to beat in a prelim with a couple of players better for the run and a few key players coming back. I believe we will get the winner of the Carlton and Essendon game, which I believe it will be Carlton.

Hawthorn I think have an issue, they really struggled to find that second target up forward and then he went down with an injury that would normally keep you out for a week or 2, mainly due to the swelling around the knee area. But you know, these guys are obviously super athletes and he may still come up for the game.

Didak losing a yard or two of pace is a concern- he has been found wanting a few times recently.
He's one of my favourite players, and it doesn't make me happy to notice that he's lost his zip, and probably the game is nearly passing him by- noted by his disposal yesterday not being as efficient as it once was.
