People that get married during cricket season need a good talking to!
Our first 2 games are affected by players being unavailable due to this "blight on society", of which all 3 are past players of the club, so they should know better
What hope do these blokes have when they are forced by their "Life partner to be" to have their nuptuals during spring & summer, because the weather is nicer.
If they don't take a stand now, they are done for!

Reminds me of one story: Our long time player Geoff George actually opened the batting on his wedding day. That is committment, and thats what I am talking about!!!

club legend john william has only missed 3 days of cricket in his whole career because of weddings and he's been playing for over 40 years.... he flat out refuses to go to the ceremony during the day much to my mums disgust!!! the reception however he never misses... .... the 3 he missed however he had to go to, his daughters and my brothers and mine... both myself and my bro said he could play that day, but my mum was goin to knock him out if he did!!! so he really didnt have a choice, haha!!

I want to throw something out there.Why is it that in the adelaide suburban cricket association which is a hard wicket cricket competition is there one team that plays on turf?? It just doesnt make sense to me how one team has a turf pitch. I believe there would have to be a hard wicket pitch available for them to use.
I kind of understood when it was Westminster but now with them gone another team moves to the turf deck
.Now before any one thinks im whinging im not I like playing on turf and enjoy it but just dont understand how this has passed through the association does this mean clubs can pull up there hard wicket and lay a turf one if they want????

Simple answer is yes you can have a turf pitch if you want to.

I believe the rules state you can have concrete covered with hessian (or however you spell it) as well.
