i think he had a try with port didn't he ????
still cant fathom out why annear took him from the ground at 3/4 time of the 94 A1 GF and he rucked roved of the bench
Perhaps hafey can tell us why !!!!!

I can tell you that you are not the only one to have asked that question over the years , Cocky had a groin strain going into GF and wanted desperately to play but was in doubt due to Annear not wanting to risk him. By 3/4 time Annear believed he was spent so ran him off the bench and the rest is history .

The 1992 Div 1 flag coached by Steve Curtis is still my favorite

Yep , spot on there Felch

Yeah gets my vote also. Played against Cockles for a few years, and was as hard as nails on the field, and the first bloke to buy you a beer afterwards. Pity about the 94 GF though...

Cockles played one of the best third quarters I have ever seen against ROC in the 2003 A2 GF. Had about a dozen possesions and hit the top of the post late in the quarter. He basically got us back in front, on his own back, after some wayward kicking during the previous two quarters. We were nearly three goals up in the last when our full forward kicked into the man on the mark 25 metres out in front and then the momentum turned ROC's way. We eventually lost by 12 points thanks to Sam Chadwick kicking a couple in the last, by his usual hanging out from the pack and our pinpoint accuracy of finding Ben Watkins in our forward line. We lost to the better team on the day, but it's still one that got away. Still Sh1ts Me!!!

Whilst i agree there are some great players who have not made it in town, personally i dont they deserve a mention. Potential is one thing, but to test yourself against the best is another and if blokes havent got the real hunger or desire to improve or to test themselves at the next level, than we dont really know how good they are! Do we? Thats my view anyway. However for the record, Todd Thorne, Mallala, deserves a mention. 3 mail medals!!! Gun!!!

Mail medals are given out in corn flakes packets in that league ..... Mrs Hafey could play in the pivot for Mallala , they still playing with a bell in the ball out there ??

Mate before making stupid comments like that, you prob should have some idea about Todd Thorne's ability, not sure how many games you got out and watched during the 90's, but if Mrs Hafey is as good as Todd Thorne, then youd better buy her a pair of boots, cos im sure plenty of clubs would welcome her in their side.

Blokes that should have or should be playing higher at the Lodge are, Nathan Rains, Matty Lehmann, Neil Westly and Beau Patterson, and Shane Brown (gun)

You bonehead, there is a few blokes going around who probably got lucky but that is the same for every league, Winning the leagues top honour is pretty good, as i said you can get lucky, win it three times and your doing something right. you should try going out to Mallala and try to get a game, i think you'll find Jason Earl who played a handful of league games last year for WWT can't even play centre, even with his Dad coaching! what hope would your Mother have, Clown!

While I'm on it though, Matt Gallarello could play.
He was a very good young junior. Moved really well - and had a great kick.

Trevor Rigney. Not sure if he played a league game for South or not but he'd be the most talented player i've seen.
Troy Williams was very talented too.
Not as skillfull as these two but the fittest i've ever seen was Nigel Gordon.
