Got anything to share then ORDB?

Surely if you're going to put up a post like that, you'd end it with something dedicated to hills football that we can all discuss.

Or would you rather we fell back into the salary cap/player payment rubbish?

A hit out's a hit out, but why would you trial against a lower division?

I think it should be quite interesting to see how the Brookers go against Hahndorf. May add a bit more fuel to the fire regarding Div 1 and Div 2 if they get close to the Magpies (who haven't been one of the top Divvy 1 sides recently). I shall await the outcome with baited breath.

And if you don't like posts.....don't read em!

kersbrook will give hahndorf a good run, if the three james's all play they'l have a killer midfield

IF I WAS BIRDWOOD PRESIDENT.....

Postby devilsadvocate » Wed Mar 28, 2007 4:02 pm

IF I WAS BIRDWOOD PRESIDENT.....

I'd hire a team of near-naked cheerleaders to dance all game on the sidelines.

That WOULD surprise a few teams and Birdwood might be a chance of winning a game!

That's a great recruitment strategy for 2008 also!
I dare say a few players would take a pay cut if for a slice of that action!

Maybe the roosters are onto something!

i know this is gonna be met with many groans but recruits wise we're not letting anything out, good local lads though, captains harrison (exnorwood) and seamus connel (from imps) r both top players, we got about 4 guys who have played norwood 19's, a FF who kicked 80 goals last year in div 2, a returning ruckman who has played for the Eagles and another bloke who didn't play last year but played in the 3 losing GF's and has had sizeable offers from a few other hills clubs, plus 2 u/17 mail medalists and a runner up u/17 mail medalist...

that's the best i can do for ya!

Rooster, be honest - what's it all about?
There are always, year in year out, rumours about div 2 teams making the step up. Why you guys and why this year? What's the plan? A 5, 10, see-how-it- goes approach?
I ask because there was a lot of speculation, and I'd like to hear from someone involved.

remember im just a player, not a committee member or anything, but as far as i know birdwood have always had a kick ass junior program, but over the last few years have lost some quality juniors to go play in higher grades, so they thought it was a good way to keep some of their juniors. certainly a 3 - 5 year plan from what i hear, not expecting immediate success, but not a club used to being at the bottom very often either.
as much as anything jut wanting to give it a crack with the big boys and see what comes of it! never die wondering ay
