Does anyone have a run down on this game? That seems like a huge pants pulled down effort right there!

I was at the game and seemed like SHOC flexed a bit harder and beat the living flex out of them, it was flextastic to watch!

I did read on the leagues website a post saying the umpiring was one of the most one sided effort ever? I guess they now know what it was like for others to play against them with there ump!

We beat Modbury's D grade side when they played in C5 a few years back and they were as confident in themselves then too, I believe when they went into the GF from the 2nd semi they took the week off training leading up to the GF and a number of them had died there hair brown and gold for the game! Would have thought they would have learnt thier lesson.

SHOC were on top of the Flex all game. The umpiring excuses started coming out before half time. There were some soft free kicks given to both sides but I doubt a neutral supporter would have noticed the umpiring. SHOC had 8 blokes omitted from the C grade and one bloke return from injury and were just too good on the day. Means nothing though, the real test is in two week's time.

I think you will find Tex that there is only 3 players from that C5 team playing in this current D7R team, so i wouldnt go comparing sides!
And FYI the year Golden Groves C grade beat Modbury's D grade in the GF, they trained all nights and 1 player died there hair brown and gold which he has done for all the GF's he has played in at MFC!

Hawks21 just wondering if you can give a run down on Saturdays game. I thought it was going to be a ripper and very close

Couldnt make the game unfortunatly due to work but from all reports Modbury were just over ran by a very good SHOC team. SHOC have showed over the last few years they have great depth in there lower grades so it wasnt a great suprise they won, but i did expect it to be a little closer.

It was pretty close to half time. I think initially we were up about 6 goals to 1 early, then Scudds kicked a couple and we went into the half 7goals to 3 up. The second half their were definitely more frees paid, but they were pretty legit. I think one of their guys (number 41 I think) got pinged holding the ball off of a bump by our players (or half tackle depending on how you look at it). After that he lost the plot and was giving away 25 meter galore. We then went on a tear and a few of their guys seemed give up defensive running and we capitalised. It was closer than the scoreline says, so definitely not under-estimating Modbury or Athelstone for that matter who have come from nowhere from the looks!

Great game of football, was an arm wrestle all day. SHOC jumped out the blocks well and went in at quarter time about 8 or 9 points up. We hit back in the 2nd and went in at half time up by 1 point. Our 3rd quarter probably won us the game we were all over them and managed to go into the last with a 4 goal buffer. SHOC came home strong and seemed to grow another leg kicking 3 unanswered goals to get within 2 or 3 points before we kicked a couple to steady the ship, we then bottled it up for the last 5 minutes.

Massive crowd and atmosphere according to the lads was unreal, i'm sure coming home kicking to our clubroom end in front of all our fans helped us get over the line. Was also good to see a stack of supporters from other clubs there cheering us on. The club is very happy to finally get out of division 7 and it is a great reward for the many people who have put in the hard yards over the years. Now our goal is to put the icing on the cake with a Premiership :)

SHOC v Angle Vale should be a cracking match. SHOC will go in as heavy favourites but I get the feeling this may be closer than some people think.

Noticed Novosel was missing too on sat Riddler, thats a big inclusion for Mawson in the GF one would think.

Congrats to your boys, nice to see all the old scholars that have stuck with the club through the lean times and have a chance at a flag. Might go to the granny and see all the lads from st.pauls play. Is pete molloy still about?

That no.41 should play each week with a box of tissues. No doubt he cried a lot as a baby

Yeah Ivan should be back for the GF along with a couple of other key players who missed out Saturday.
Thanks for the support, there were a few Hope Valley lads there from what I saw....Pete Molloy is still around the place yes.

was at the game and i think you will find in all divisions come finals time dont understand interpretation of umpires.
this is because all year the lower divisions esp get substandard umpiring or umpires that actually umpire to the capabilities of the players playing that division.all of a sudden come finals the best umpires are used and alot of teams get confused because the umpiring level is higher.shoc were very good and very fast but more importantly they were smarter when they had the ball
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

SHOC's depth is most powerful in the SAAFL. They'll have another crack at the Mawson Lakes Masters in 2 weeks. As for the 'Flex heads' they are no chance against SHOC.

there'd be some other clubs who could argue with that statement...
