Yeah they didn't bring their guerseys, it is a strange thing to forget when playing a game. I think if they were going to be about 10 minutes longer they may have had to forfeit! We got up by 7 goals in the end.

Good old D grade hey  You could have played Skins v's Jumpers like the old training days :D

For a team that was thrown together at literally the last minute our C Grade in our very first season this year has exceeded our expectation beyond belief by making the finals in what I think is one of the strongest 'C' grade comps going around. I would like to congratulate them on a fine year but also on behalf of MLFC want to wish very good luck to all the remaining teams left in the finals. Hopefully we can be back bigger and stronger next year ;)

Yep couldn't agree more Riddler. The second time around we played you guys was a decent hit out and as you said your C's will only get stronger with a influx of experience/players in 2012.

Give us a tip on who you think will win the flag??

I haven't seen the Big 2 in action but from all reports from the lads and looking at results it should be a Flinders Park v Golden Grove Grand Final with Flinders getting up in a thriller, sorry Hefty :(

Riddler, think you saying C6 is one of the strongest going around is a bit like saying a Div 6 side beating a good Div 1res team ;) You may be surprised at the quality running around in all of the C grade comps from C1 downwards

Well I can only go by what my boys tell me, quite a few of them have seen and played in the various other comps and they say both Flinders and Golden Grove would go very well or at least be very competitive in any of the other 'C' grade comps.

With the exception of ML (c grade) and SHOC (E grade) this comp was filled with all D grade sides. Having seen Flinders Park, SMOSH, Mitcham and Portland in the C3 comp I can say that we would struggle to beat these sides big time. I cant speak for other sides but I know that in a trial this year our D grade played against Salisburys C grade and got beaten easily so I think it is tought to compare sides from different grades. We like to think that of the D grade sides we are up there but who knows how we would go against SHOC, Modbury and TTG who play thier C and D grades out of div 7.

Agree, at this stage FP have to be favourites in this comp, we know what we need to do just have to put it into practice!

No way you blokes don't lump us with the favourites tag! Only a couple of goals separated us in the end. You guys have the two forwards to stop so i don't think anyone's a favourite. We will both have to play well, it will be a cracker. We are so even all over the ground. It will be a very good standard for C6!!

Nope, favourite is all yours! We do have a few forwards to stop but you guys dont let much get through so will still be a tough one! We need to tighten up on your forwards to as this is probably what cost us top spot in the end we let some easy goals through, especially when we played you guys, we went down by 7 goals and was shooting for the lead in the last quarter so we were sloppy to say the least. Favourite tag has to go to the top side mate, all yours. 8)

You guys are a toughh crowd!
We spent all year chasing you guys and now you give us the favourites tag. I think you will find we consider you lads to be the favourites. Set the bench mark all year and if Gepps hadn't pulled the pin you would have finished top. Gonna be a good finals series anyway you look at it. Hey Tex when we played you guys up at Harpers where on the field did you play? Just trying to get an idea who you may be ;)

Tough game out there yesterday and we definitively had our chances to knock you guys off, I think we thought the wind would do it for us in the last and you guys played great against it. The 5 goal margin really is not the difference in the two sides in the end IMO. We now need to get the job done against SHOC this week to have another crack at you guys. I only hope that SHOC don't do something stupid and drop all there D graders back to try and get them over the line, I know there was about 4 or so of them in the first week of finals (before anyone says anything check the team sheets, some guys played D grade the week before and were back in the D grade this week) it is in the rules and it didn't matter in the end but IMO it is flirting with your numbers a little, any of those guys get injured and they are out of a GF the week after, if they do well so be it as I said it is in the rules I still think that the rules are dodgy and you should have to qualify for a grade in the finals.

As for your question cows, at home I played down back but yesterday spent most of the game on the wing, wore a long sleeve top, and yeah it was hot!. BTW, you can now have the tag :(

Yep a very good game Tex.You guys lost both your forwards and that didn't help. In saying that our third qtr was terrible. The last qrt is how we normally play and it was a shame it took us so long to produce it. We know we will have to play a full 4qtrs to get past you guys again and i think we will see you in two weeks time.
How are Marshall and Bear?

I didn't play yesterday due to injury but i think i now know who you are. Was it 55?

TEX you toss. SHOC had two blokes that played E grade the week they played Golden Grove(qualifying final) both coming back from injury that played D grade this week. One hadn't played for 4 weeks. SHOC picked a squad of roughly 24 for the D grade first week of the finals that didn't play any grade. Do you really think that SHOC's D grade would battle all year to get a week off to then stack their E grade. Isn't that what teams play for during the minor round. If they played up at Harpers Field they played cause thats the team they play for. If they played for the D grade in the final minor round game it was cause they had 12 out knob.
But good stiring though.

Yep, thats me. Not sure about Marshy and bear yet, to be honest cant see either getting up but you never know, bear more likely I would say but have not heard how Marshy ended up. Your last quarter was awesome, we couldnt get the ball forward as hard as we wanted to, your midfield were on top of us early but once we made a couple of changes we got back into the game, we also went in a ruckman down which made ours ruck alone all day.
