twas brilliant.
Bloody good crowd aswell.
Apparently they've been getting JJJ airplay hence the crowd size.
So many highlights across the gig that I'm not sure where to start.
An ultra skilled, humble, versatile and hard working band.
Hooray for YLT!

There's actually another reason...why I'm not at work today either.
Seriously, I used to love them around the Electr-o-pura / Painful albums but for me they became a lot less interesting the more popular they became and the less they played their guitars (I'm not usually snobbish when this happens to a band I like but with them they lost me). Glad you enjoyed it though. Surprised you were allowed out

Wait for confirmation but I have heard the two festivals might be moved to Thebarton Theatre due to poor ticket sales. Interesting the Pet Shop boys headline night in Melbourne now has half price tickets. Michael Coppell just can't run a festival.

Either one gig or the other...
Sorry folks but Boston's 'Mad Micks' the DROPKICK MURPHYS are by far are my priority!
They've been here before & by Gawd they'll come here again!
Truly one of the most entertaining live acts I've ever had the privilege to experience!
Must be my Irish blood... To be sure, to be sure, to be sure!
Only problem is, with the Police & Fire Games currently on @ the moment in Adelaide,
I don't wanna have to deal with the drunken Paddy's of the NYPD!
ie. Batman's Chief O'Hara!

I think its now official, if its not it will be soon. The event have been moved. Tuesday is now at the Thebarton Theatre and Wednesday is now at the Entertainment Centre. I was hoping for discounted tickets so I could afford to go but I don't like my chances now. I can't even listen outside.

Shame.
Mem drive is a great venue.
Having said that I'm glad the Tuesday night is at Thebby and not the other place.

DROPKICK MURPHYS (Yes them again)

Yeah the venues have officially changed. Not fussed about the Thebby but I don't want to go to the Ent Cent. Is it general admin?

I am still picking myself up off the floor after getting the times for the Sydney show - all the bands on the main stages overlap, sometimes by half an hour!
Why couldn't they do it like the BDO when you can move from one to the other without missing a beat?? Too logical!
I'm paying to go to Sydney with the intention of seeing PSB and the Pixies - and they freakin' overlap by 1/2 hour!
IDIOTS!!!

Whatever you have to pay and wherever you have to go SEE THIS BAND. One of the best gigs I have ever seen (and it was "only" a warm up show!)

Were they both on the two main stages? I don't mind when one of the smaller stages clashes

How was their interaction? Recent footage I've seen has none of the loopiness they used to have. Does Kim Deal get engaged at all?

Kim Deal was the only one who interacted with the audience. She cracked a few jokes and had a great time. She also has one of the sexiest smiles I've seen BTW. Frank Black said very little. Joey didn't have a mic so that made talking with the audience a little hard. Not that I think he would of, he seems a pretty shy bloke that one. More concerned with playing the guitar - brilliantly.

As tipped earlier on this thread tickets are now $50. What do you reckon the chances are that they will refund part of what I already paid in buying multiple tickets?
