Had a look in Glenelg cycles today, did the usual looking for a bike routine and again got recommended the Giant. So it looks like that's the winner me thinks, and for a full carbon bike that cheap I think its going to be a good buy!

Just a pity I'm going to have to put it on lay buy, so I wont be able to ride it ASAP :(

Rode up Chandlers Hill Rd today, wow that was pretty tough, much harder than Belair Rd.

Upgrading the Giant OCR 3 to a TCR in the next month. OCR3 has a 28 39 53 crankset (I know I know I should wear a skirt when riding it), TCR Comp 1 has a 34 50 crankset. Decided to start preparing for the "harder" front small crank on the new bike so kept the chain on the 39 up Cement Hill. Surprised how relatively easy I found it, staying in the seat. Might be a bit harder up the slightly steeper (but shorter) inclines of the veloway.

Have a feeling it might be slightly cheaper at glenelg, but could be wrong if course... unless you are including pedals, then I think thasts about on par.

Any specific reason for the 1 instead of the 2, or purely just the ultegra group set?

Basically thats the reason. Yeah I know there is not much difference between the 105 and Ultegra group set theres a difference in brake calipers and wheels too IIRC.

Not sure if I'm going to notice the difference that much when I'm hyperventilating up old Willunga Hill for Amy's ride...

Anybody do any mountain biking?

Living in the hills gives me easy access to Eagle MB Park and Fox Creek (Cudlee Creek/Lenswood). Energy sapping fun. (especially with a crap bike)
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Yep sounds about right but my speedo is low on battery as you can barely see it when riding, unless you look at it from an angle.

I had solid speeds though, on my way home I was feeling a bit fatigued towards the end but still was averaging around 30k's. Wanted to do a strong ride today as I haven't been for a little while and won't be able to go over the weekend.

well that was an interesting ride.... did my usual sprint ride from anzac highway, up leader st to goodwood rd, up cross rd, then up the old freeway to the mt osmond turn off.. BANG.. puncture just before the turn off.... ring the misses to come bring me a spare.... start my climb and smash it in my quickest time 6min 13sec - from the turn off to the golf course entrance (1.90km) - fly across the top of the ridge and back down into burnside, turn onto portrush rd.. BANG.. puncture.. ring the misses again who was almost home to come get me... spend the next 10 mins walking along portrush rd to Burnside to get picked up.... really shouldnt have went for a ride today.. :)

What's the route for the ride Dutchy? Have a couple of training guides and they all have a ride or 2 in the days before an event.

Yeah might just roll the legs over for 15kms on some flat on Saturday. Here is the first loop for Sunday, the one Im doing, there is a second 75km loop for those doing 150kms.

Stoked

Just did the ride up to the old EOTH pub from work (Glenside) on the 39 crank. Just not using my 28 crank at all now. 182 MHR with a 77% (138 BPM) average. Forgot how bad that first bit Toll Gate to Devils Elbow is on teh bike track. Just can't get a rhythm with the pedal cadence.

Double good news been informed the tax returns have come through. Time to clear some space on the GE card then off to JT Cycles for some new wheels...

if you can't be a cyclist at least look like one!!!
