Agreed - we've had night games at Richmond an Noarlunga this year with zero problems (and the Richmond game was a bad loss). If the Glenelg Football Club are that narrow minded then they don't deserve night games.

Not saying it was either team but at Richmond there was trouble with flares and tyres being slashed.

Will they leave the lights on long enough so they can all sing the song on the ground after every mediocre win?

From what I heard I thought the tyre slashing was a random attack from a local group of thugs with zero connection to either football club (though they probably picked that night so Centrals supporters would cop the blame).

me·di·o·cre   /ˌmidiˈoʊkər/ Show Spelled[mee-dee-oh-ker] Show IPA
adjective
1. of only ordinary or moderate quality; neither good nor bad; barely adequate: The car gets only mediocre mileage, but it's fun to drive. Synonyms: undistinguished, commonplace, pedestrian, everyday; run-of-the-mill. Antonyms: extraordinary, superior, uncommon, incomparable.
2. not satisfactory; poor; inferior: Mediocre construction makes that building dangerous. Synonyms: meager, low-quality, second-rate; so-so. Antonyms: excellent, superior

I'd say no win is mediocre.

Even by your standards that's a fairly pompous and self involved post.

It has happened in one game out of the dozen or so night games so its not a regular issue. Get there and support your team, didnt happen earlier this year when West played Glenelg under lights.

Hang on, he said exactly the same thing about Central fans as what Kris Grant did in that article, I assume you want Kris Grant to resign too?
He merely said there was a "perception" which Kris Grant also said there was.
And according to the poll also run its a perception which a majority of people share.
Surely an overreaction by some on here?

"It's around perception," Nelson said. "We haven't experienced (any problems) or have any increased concerns with Central District supporters or any other team.

"There's a perception around it, that's why we requested that."

"There is a perception out there, we're not going to run away from that fact," Kris Grant said.

Watch out, some Central's fans will want you to resign from your position as a poster on this forum for stating a perception that exists.

Looks like the request is to appease residents.

Doesn't look like Glenelg or the CEO are bagging Central at all.

Building on a perception by requesting that no night games be played between the two clubs at the Bay is irresponsible from someone in a position of influence over the community. Surely he has a responsibility to set a good example for supporters of his club?

Mate, he'd be happy to dance down Jetty Rd in cowboy chaps with his arse hanging out if it appeased the few that are holding up the lights ... so I wouldn't get too worked up about it.
