46 off 67 balls IIRC, that's ok for someone steadying the ship. What we lack is aggressive middle order batsmen who can hit boundaries and take risk on a regular basis to compliment the like sof Clarke, it's something we don't have anymore and unfortunately anyone new is too worried about losing their spot to attempt this feat.

Bring on the Paine!!!!!!

I agree but I hardly think he's a 120 run per ball player. Haddin's just Healy reincarnated.

How good was Malinga's spell last night? I said to my wife after Mitch got bowled "We wont score another run, he'll get a a hat-trick here bowling like that"
Full with a bit of shape with a dusty coloured ball, Dave Hussey had no idea, the rest of the chops sure as hell weren't going to get near it.

LM, are you forgetting Ferg. Scores at a run a ball consistently no matter what the situation when he comes in. Averages just under 50 (as I keep reminding us all) and is young. What does he have to do. Selectors just seem to like checking whether or not Nuff Nuff Smith has improved yet. How long till he gets another go before Ferg.....
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

In the other thread I have him in my line-up mate, he's just another worker though, that was the point I was making, he's not a Roy or White when he was doing well.
We've become so vulnerable that no one wants to take risks in the middle order for fear of failure, perhaps Mitch is the short term solution, if he fails it's no great blight on the side.
In saying that, it appears as though the 330's etc. that started to look like the par scores have come back to 250 to 270. The game has taken a swing around towards the bowlers again.

One from left field but it appears they have have pigeon holed Warner into an opener. Do you think he could come in at 6-7 and tee off. Reckon the selectors think he is suspect to spin/slow bowling. Is it worth a shot?

I think he's better suited to belting the hard ball around, once again though, when he gets a gig he goes into his shell, they should tell him you've got 8 innings to show us what you've got and go for it.

Michael Clarke was player of the series.
