im not a big reader but currently am about half way through a book called batavia
about a ship of the same name (pride of the dutch trading company) on a journey to the then dutch east indies when it becomes ship wrecked near the abroholos islands. true story that happened well before european settlement of australia. so far its a fantastic read

Is that by the rugby (ex)player now commentator whose name escapes me?
I'm currently reading the third volume (A Clash of Kings) of GRR Martins "A Song of Ice and Fire".Some heavy going but a cracking story line.

The best WW1 narrative I have read. Fantastic story told with some wonderful first hand sources.
Wonderful book.

David Rathband Tango 190, the Uk copper that got shot and blinded for life, is compelling reading

Although it may be formula written, James Patterson's Women' Murder Club series is excellent. Currently on book nine and looking forward to Tenth Anniversary.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. He accepted a little more blame for things than I thought, but it's still amazing just how "wronged" he is by so many people and also, that there are a remarkable number of times that his version of meetings/discussions/events etc are the only one that contradicts those of many other people.
