However Carlton have a tough run so I am not sure where they will finish. If they finish 4th somehow, Collingwood v Carlton first week will be the biggest game of the last 10 years.

Lets hope

Arrogant Carlton nonsense. I reckon there would be ten grand finals ahead of that.

Forgetting about ANZAC day Turbo?
For memory i think in 5 of the last 10 years the crowd for ANZAC day has been bigger than all finals except GF and in a couple of instances bigger than the GF

Reality is we probably won't be playing collingwood and will be playing you guys in front of 90,000. As far as Anzac day at a guess averages around 90,000 and that is a specialized day. How many do you get for the last regular essendon v collingwood game?

Reckon about 75,000 at Collingwood v Essendon.
Reckon you guys will be playing Sydney infront of about 60,000 at MCG and we will be playing Saints at Etihad infront of a full house. Thats my preferred draw anyway that way if we are lucky enough to beat the Saints we would stay in Melbourne whereas Carlton more than likely will have to go to Perth :)

Well 90,000 odd. Let's not quibble. Still massive attendances that only a few teams are able to conjure in the regular season. In the finals its a given

So how does that make a Carlton v Collingwood final the biggest game in ten years then? Like I said, arrogant Carlton nonsense.

Sydney are crap. Carlton would beat them by eight goals.

Weren't my words and I agree an over the top comment although Melbourne is buzzing when the big city teams are playing well and against each other in and out of finals.

I also agree we would likely beat Sydney by 6+ goals

Nothing is a given in football especially at finals time, ask Geelong about the unlosable GF against the Hawks or Essendon in the 1999 Prelim against Carlton. If Sydney has an on day they could knock off Carlton as unlikely as it seems at the moment

While what you say is true Adam Goodes can't beat Carlton on his own. The Swans are blue collar but Goodes aside none of em are Blue chip. Carlton doesn't run particularly deep IMO but they do have some Guns in that team and looking for thier first finals win in a decade would account for Sydney easily.

Essendon unable to miss out on the 8 now.
On 42 points with a game against port to come.
That means they'll be 10 points ahead of freo who has to play collingwood still in one of their 3 games.

Not worried about Freo but Kangaroos have 3 very winnable games so we could still miss. We have a shocking record against Port but we should beat them on current form. Really hope we can finish 7th instead of 8th. Hopefully our percentage doesnt take too much of a hit this weekend
