When someone calls someone mate, and they respond with "Don't call me mate, I'm not your mate". Is there anything more childish?

Ease up. Mrs REB is a Census collector. They get paid two and a half grand. It takes a lot of legwork to deliver and collect them. All you have to do is fill out a form and hand it over. Piece of piss mate.

The census collector came twice (when I was at work). Obviously I couldn't hand it over...

On the third day (when God created lamb), I left the census in the letterbox (where they had put reminder notices the previous days), and they put a third reminder on top of the census, and didn't pick it up...

Be careful that it is not a cultural thing though, gadj. People in some cultures do not look others in the eye.
Cheers

Agreed, but in this instance it's definitely not cultural. It's pig headed arrogance.
