He wasn't bad I guess, but he certainly didn't play well enough to keep some of those other guys out of the team, same would have happened to Haydon if he'd not also been injured. But these kids will continue to improve and they will soon enough I'm sure demand a spot.

Very much interested to see what our forward line looks like. I dare say Roy will be asking his midfielders to improve on last week and help the guys up forward out more. Fingers crossed Havelberg is fit, but ice on the hammy is never a good sign. Best case scenario it felt tight and they were confident enough the game was safe and took him off right away as a precaution.

I have a very good feeling about this game. Eagles by 5 goals.

I share your feeling. A Norwood win over West and an Eagles win will have the Legs on top!

Great to see Wingnut back. Still expect the Eags to win by 17 though, partially because of our heavy training regime.

INTO 23: J.Sutherland, I.Callinan, L.Barmby, M.Westhoff

OUTS: J.Waldhuter, C.Musolino + 2 to drop off the bench

That looks a 5 goal better side than last week. I was quite impressed though by what I saw of Waldhuter last week.

Havelberg won't play.

One would assume Matty Westhoff will finally get a game in the league side if Havelberg doesn't play?

Might still be waiting to see what the weather/conditions look like tomorrow before deciding if the extra tall is needed. Personally I think we need Matty as a genuine option come finals time. Playing him in the reserves up until then wont achieve that IMO.

Im surprised Nick White cant crack a league game based on his current good run of form and lack of height in the league side.

Eagles team:

F: Goldsworthy, Redden, Hall
HF: Treeby, Grocke, Staple
C: Allmond, Lewis, Jarrad
HB: McKenzie, Day, Rimington
B: Fairclough, Greiger, Raymond
R: Hoban, Powell, Rowntree
Int (from): Tiller, Batley, Sutcliffe, Lane
In: Fairclough, Rimington, Batley, Sutcliffe, Tiller, Greiger, Hoban
Out: Broadbent, Knights, Thompson, Parry, Cicolella, Giuffreda

Going to really test the Eagles depth with a third of the starting 18 listed as outs from the team that beat West.

Hopefully Giuffreda's injury is not too bad and he won't be out for long. Has become a favourite at the Eagles for his consistency and hard at it approach. The Eagles back line will miss him significantly this weekend.

Now that I have seen the 2 teams I think that its pretty even.

The trouble is we don't play well at the "fortress" and we have already won there this season.

Twice in a season is asking a lot :(

Giufredda dislocated shoulder at training on Monday I believe- significant loss of a tight, tough player.
Both sides with some key outs, who has the best depth? Time will tell.

Here at Unleash Solar Oval now, from a Central perspective, Corey Reichert is in the reserves and Matthew Westhoff isn't, meaning he will be playing in the league game.

I would have though the Eags & Norwood would also be going thru a similar exercise as well, given that it seems to be part of a tried and tested preparation for a successful finals campaign? Begs the question....are they?

The Eagles were going to shift training to a different level in the lead up to this game due to the extended break between games so not to go into this crucial game underdone.
