Cheers Red, nice to see some input from the powerhouse club. (Come back BJ!!!). Looks like I guessed right ;) .
Whilst it was a shock result, it shows that although the lower sides havent many wins on the board, they have been much more competitive this year. There have been some bigger margins of late, but they are due to injury etc I reckon. I'm sure Willunga would still have expected to win - the loss has put top spot at risk.

Been a long time!
Not sure where Red is coming from (we had no players in the state squad) but anyone who missed the EB game was injured! There was no resting and the most disappointing thing from the EB game was some guys got a great opportunity to show their stuff and didnt take it. Big reality check and really sets us back in the race for top spot!
This season is as open as Ive ever seen in GSFL history. Any of the 5 sides in there are capable on there day to beat any other side. Looking forward to a very interesting final 3 weeks of the minor round and then a cracking September!

It will certainly be an interesting Finals Series. Yank with home ground adv against Victor in Elim final and possibly the Creeks home adv in the GF. Hope the weather is fine and we should see some cracking games.

the grounds will be swapped around if there is a home ground advantage to an A grade side during the finals

My understanding is that the GF is the only game that will be swapped if the hosting club is playing in the 'A' grade. All other finals will remain the same as was the case in the Prelim last year for Victor. Might be the case that the Creek will have to give up another GF this year, but I'm sure they'll be happy to for this reason.

As far as i know, the Grand Final will be played at Langhorne Creek regaurdless of wether the Creeks 'A' grade side is playing or not.
Only an "Act of God" as with the Floods last year or other exceptional circumstances would see the venue change.
I'll stand to be corrected tho. ;)

At the end of the day, if the GSFL are going to rotate the GF amongst the 10 ovals and the one of the competing 'A' grade teams are lucky enough to have the home ground advantage for that 1 particular year, well good luck to them i say otherwise a Grand Final may NEVER be played at Willunga.

pooh oval anyway every Grand final should be played at Yankalilla, and any one who has been there for a final of GF would agree awesome parking and oval, and dont all write dumb stuff about its unfair I am joking but it is true.

1-10 of the best ovals in the GSFL (not so much car parking etc just the general ovals grade to play on)

1) Goolwa
2) Strath - (before the rain sets in and middle goes boggy)
3) Yank
4) Creek
5) Encounter Bay
6)Victor
7)Mclaren
8)Myponga
9)Willunga
10)Mt. Compass

I guess we get comfortable on our home decks, but I reckon Victor oval is best. Surface isnt the best going around, but the surface is level and not on the side of a hill, it is a good size, regular shaped, the goal posts face each other and it deals with water superbly.

Brains of a peanut you have BAYS10, just think back 12 months when the Port Elliot Oval Committee wouldn't let
Goolwa play 1 heritage game there against Encounter Bay, The oval is controlled by a Oval committee which if FULL of
cricketers and as if they would let it get cut up by football, 4 weeks before cricket!

Goolwa & Yank are the best decks around finals time.
I think peoples memories haunt them about the past Pongy decks, far better than Bays, Victor, Strath, Vale these days

Even if you they would let you use it, would stay well away, have seen a few finals over the years at Pt. Elliot. Mostly compromised by howling northerlys which have dropped off in the last quarters giving the side kicking 'downhill' in the first a huge advantage. Very little protection from the normal spring breezes on the coast.

They've done an amazing job that's for sure. One thing it has done is taken some of the home ground advantage Pongy had away from them I reckon. Pongy sides of old were always so hard to beat there as they were so much better at playing the heavy ground.

The only problem I find as a spectator is seeing what is going on at the other end over the crest. Spoilt by the raised viewing at home I spose ;)

Absolutely my friend and comrade.. Excellent country footy. Great footy to watch.. I enjoy going to Compass to Footy the once a year.. Its my favourite away ground...
Great seating, great atmosphere, opposing spectators arent too bad for opposing spectators.. and their President is a real nice bloke... but to come away with the win today was fabulous. Our A grade is a severely undermanned squad and to see them all stand up like the did today was fabulous.. To have had the injuries to our 10 odd A Graders that we have and to have them all out today was a credit to the boys that played.. To have a hand full of B graders in the team and to see the boys all play like they did makes me smile. Today We had only two 2 x 3 pointed players and one 1 pointed player and thats it..... WORK THAT OUT... Pure talent and team work and club spirit .. Thats what we are all about at the bays, Just need to learn to play like that every week and finish off ALL the games like we did today... Excellent effort.

Congratulations also to our Junior Colts who had a win today also which was a nice one for the littlies, who havent sung the "We are the Gold and Blues" much this season either.. They have shown some massive improvements to a very young Junior Colts Team.. This to me shows promise for what we have to come... This young Juior Colt team only looses about 5 kids to Senior Colts next year... There a team to keep your eyes on next season.. Some fantastic Junior footballers on the way up to our big boys...
;) ;) ;)
