I'm not sure if the big fella wants the job or not, I found the rumour rather surprising but thinking about it a bit deeper and I could see that he may of burnt himself out again.
Steve has a tendancy to over-commit his time, both him and his wife never do things in halves, when Steve was coaching the B's at Smithfield he was also coaching the 18's and helping out with two other junior sides that his younger lads played in.
He coaches the A's and a junior side this season at Angle Vale, I'm sure Mrs DJ would do plenty of behind-the-scenes work aswell, football clubs take a lot out of you at the end of the day, you don't realize at first but when you sit back and weigh up the time and effort you put in, it's a fair wake-up call.
they have been the driving force behind the AVFC since it's birth, I'm sure he'd be keen to stay on with some role out there if Thommo was to take the job, I'd say Steve would have the first option to stay on or step aside, surely.

They both do alot of work behind the scenes. clubs need people like that. Maybe a good thing for Angle Vale to get a coach that has come from somwhere else, different phlosophy. Thommo, did he come out and train and smithfield a few years back, after his unit days

He applied for the B Grade job, it went to a former chairman & life member of the club, it was the last season the B's were competitive, defeated the Grand Finallist twice during the year but fell short of making the finals, struggled big-time when it came time to travel anywhere south of Mofflin Reserve.

They only fielded on side in the C1 comp this season, they'll have two sides in Div 7 & Div 7Res next season.
It's going to be hard to get them back from Virginia now, I'm sure their value has risen and Virginia will be reluctant to let them go.

i think you will find that what ever is said about dutchy is that ,rumor
he would keep it to himself until everything is set in place the way he wants
he will decide when the time is right and it will be at the right club
if he does take on a coaching job i can guarantee you he will do an excellent job and it will be on his terms

Shaun Hollands name is always mentioned everywhere until the week before round 1 of any given year

If he in fact ever decides to leave Peake his first port of call to play would probably the Mozzies I reckon.

i tend to agree with the first part as i've been trying to get out of him what he is doing next year and trust me it's like getting water out of a fish's arse apart from the fact he is looking at coaching again.

the facts are that dutchy is such a great lad that many of the people around have forgotten how good he is
he has forgotten more about footy than most will ever know
if he was ever looking for an apprentiship into coaching i would be the first to offer him a job with the idea of taking over as any good club would and should
