Have to agree with Jim , Duldig is just too slow and we play one short when the ball hits the ground. Sturt were competitive which will please Norman but they really need to focus on their skill level.Centrals rarely miss targets by foot. McIntyre is not good enough yet still gets a game . Disappointing that Crane was kneed in the back by Gowans , don't really see the purpose of that.

Maybe Luke's back got in the way of the knee of Chris?

I thought it was young Neilsen HP, not Crane, I must have missed that one?

Just your typical August win for Centrals. Kick out to a 3-4 goal lead, then answered every challenge Sturt gave. Not the greatest game, but that's to be expected this time of the year for Centrals.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Hope the ice on the hamstring at the end of the game was a precaution and not a sign of yet another injury.

Dogs just did what they had to do to record a fairly comfortable win in the end. Got close briefly, but no sooner did Sturt get within a kick did we kick away again. Spurr was fantastic (19 marks!), Sansbury and Jenner clean as a whistle as usual. Hannath did well deputising for Sutherland in lead ruck, just about cemented his spot I'd say. Habel's best game too. Good to just see Thomas, Boyd and Hayes get some ball in hand and a run. The side looks so much better with those guys back.

Thought for someone of his class that Martin was very ordinary today. More turnovers than a bakery.

Im happy to get the win and happy to be back top

BUT...............................

I dont think too many long term issues were solved today, imho we cant win the premiership with Reichart and Templeton as the two tall defenders. We are also 1 tall forward short at the moment and too reliant on Havelberg.

Would have liked to see Westoff given a game today as i think he has to be part of our final plans with the current players available.

Habel played his best game of the year and imho Templeton is brilliant when he has the ball he uses it very well and shows alot of composure.

Was proud of our guys and felt that we did the job well early as a big quarter time deficit would have meant a big shellacking probably. Thought Wingard did OK and Tambling was better along with Duldig, Crane and McLeay.

Just want to mention what a diabolical performance the yellow jackets put in up the Southern end after half time. If they were treating everybody the same, there would have only been about 400 people left in attendance when the final siren went.

Care to elaborate on what was happening ODB. Thought it was strange today that no yellow coats were up the northern end.

From what i heard (could be totally wrong) a few members of the Sturt Cheersquad got lost when looking for the toilets and made the nearest tree do.

I thought duldig was good for them. It's not as though templeton kept running off him. We burnt the ball too much, quite a few smothered handballs and kicks. Happy with the win and the return of three players.

19 touches for the game suggests he did just that.

The guys down back are playing well as a unit, they will be fine defenders for some time, and this constant criticism of Reichert from some fans if anything shows a lack of understanding of the game. The weakness we do have is those guys are still inexperienced and light so some of the bigger more powerful forwards pose a threat to us they didn't in previous years. But the desperation and selflessness is excellent. Experience and size will come to them.

I agree Riechart has potential but can you see him matching up on a Grocke or Rowe come finals which is what we are probably going to need from him, currently his not quiet big enough to take the real big key forwards.

You say experience and size will come to them, true but that wont help us this finals series, Hardy has to play in the backlines if we are to be a serious threat come finals.

Although disappointed in losing having got so close in the last qtr there are plenty of positives to come out of that game. Some intense tackling and pressure on the opponent led to many mistakes from the Dogs. We were well behind on Inside 50s but I think that is largely due to a couple of extended periods (5-10 mins) of play when the forwards locked it in up in our forward line. This was really pleasing...if only we had capitalised on these opportunities...

The best for us I thought were Crane, Sheedy, Miles, Cubillo, Anderson and Tambling. Wingard had good moments too, as did Macca in defence. I think Grundy will be a very good footballer in the not-too-distant-future too....he was competitive in ruck and shows all the signs. Duldig was good one-on-one, where he is at his cleverest.

30 disposals for Martin, but I struggle to recall any effective ones :( He really seems to have lost his way this year...

Had McIntyre slotted the f''''ker in the last quarter then who knows what might have been..Still, it was worth the trip out to "Junk Food Alley" just to see our lads push the best in the comp and to watch Gowans crack the sh1ts when things weren't going his side's way

A very frustrating game to watch on tv.
Havelberg a decent player for us but the thing I found most frustrating today were the long bombs to a one on one where he was clearly in a wrestling match. I felt we could have gone inside 50 a bit more constructively at times.
For me, not having seen much this season, was good to see O'Hara back in the side - his rugged activity is critical for us.
Spurr - just ace. Enjoy watching him play.
Good to see Hayes back. He didn't look entirely completely comfortable to me but that could just be his awkward running style.

How many weeks for H'berg?
Any other injury worries out of the game?
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

I know the "Junktion" you speak of :) It's kind of smelly and greasy...

...but a dirty alleyway up north with a plethora of "junkies" hanging out is always more daunting ;)
