Well done Magpies. So sounds like Bays beat top team one week, and lose to bottom the next.

Ventured down to Yank today. Great game of footy, one of the best country games of footy I've seen in my life. Yank won each of the frst three quarters but Willunga dominated the last to over run them by less than two goals.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

:? :? :?
Week 1 :Braendler cleared to Thevenard but plays for Yank
Week 2 : Perry and Jackson cleared to Thevenard and all 3 play for Thevenard
Week 3: No clearances listed and all 3 play for Yank.

Strange stuff. Was it a special agreement or something?

I thought it might be a reasonable game at Victor today with Victor missing some players. Mclaren were missing some too and probably ensuring they have guys qualified in the 2s. The game was over very quickly though as Victor had 5-4 on the board before McLaren scored. Victor played well but McLaren's effort was very ordinary.

Congrats to Goolwa!

Easily the worst performance Pongy have put on the park since round 2. No excuses, Creeks were far to good. Hill, Feast, Moore etc etc dominated. One player in Dave Jefferies for the Mudlarks could hold his head up. Basic skills let us down all day.

Good to see Goolwa have a win!

Game was set up in the first quarter. We kicked 8-2 to 1 goal with the aid of a breeze then spent the day playing desperate, nervous footy as the bays pressed hard. After quarter time bays won 11 goals to 6 but the damage was done. For the bays it was a 2 man show. Davis-neale would have got 35+ and Harvey was unstoppable. He kicked 7 of their 12. For us turner and ewer were on fire, looking back at zac's last 5 or 6 weeks he could be destined for another top 5 finish in the medal count.

The celebrations started early with the 'heritage match' festivities and continued long in to the night. They were helped by the donation of free beer from our major sponsors.

As for the bays beating willunga, I can't see how that happened. Since yesterdays results there has been several Pakistani book makers who have been questioned

congrats to goolwa but really the bay boys didnt wake up till half time . bays had 3 or 4 out from the week before . and have been playing with a couple b graders each week which makes it hard when some players are playing 8 qrts for the day . i couldnt help but notice that thers about 5 or 6 goolwa b graders that would make there a grade easily , whats going on there ? stacking for finals im guessing

No stacking. If we were stacking we wouldn't have just come off a 3 game losing streak in the B's which has seen us slip from a double chance to the possibility of missing the 5. Injuries have cost us dearly as well, recent weeks have seen a heap of outs. If we stacked the B's and still won the a's you'd have to ask what's going on at the bay? Grant brown in the B's and he's kicked 28 for the year. Is that stacking?

You'd have to wonder if the pressure is on the new coach at Compass? From the outside things seem to have gone backwards – a few thought they would move in to the 5 this year.

A little birdie tells me Steve Samuels is looking to coach again next year - perhap he will get a recall!

Inclusive of Mclaren could be as many 5. Combination of poor performances, coaches stepping aside and some taking up better opportunities

Red Rested 8 players & used a few next day at AAMI stadium in State Country game!
I think he is managing the list well! What were we going to get out of it, maybe a few
injuries.

A better chance at top spot and the week off is what you'd get out of it! Not that i don't think you'll get that anyway.

Cheers Red, nice to see some input from the powerhouse club. (Come back BJ!!!). Looks like I guessed right ;) .
Whilst it was a shock result, it shows that although the lower sides havent many wins on the board, they have been much more competitive this year. There have been some bigger margins of late, but they are due to injury etc I reckon. I'm sure Willunga would still have expected to win - the loss has put top spot at risk.
