From the article,

``And I'm up for the challenge . . . for us to get better and me to learn as a coach and build our own culture,'' he said.

What does he need to learn as a Senior Coach that he does not already know? :-s

How long has the Sturt FC been around?

I would have thought they'd have plenty of "culture". Just shows how much of a bulltish term that is.

When you stop learning, that's the time to stop coaching.

Booney, I don't think he is talking about the type of culture that you grow in a petrie dish.

More like a "winning culture" - you know like Port used to have :D

Very un-glenelg like ;)

Need to provide him with some top shelf talent and maybe get some blokes back to the club. Will be an interesting off season for the double blues .

Reading this article it seems maybe he is not yet safe . Luke has once again been inconsistent in his message as he did state earlier that those losses had no impact on his players .He really needs to learn to not say anything at times as he often does this.

I found it interesting that Matt Benson said they would wait and see how the season pans out before discussing the coaching.

IMO Sturt would be a lot more justified in getting rid of their coach than either Adelaide or Melbourne. They made the big mistake of giving him an unjustifiable contract extension and now can't afford to pay him out (and if they could, they couldn't be seen as being able to afford it anyway).

Seems like Norman played them off the break. Made the GF in 09 and then went knocking on their door for a two year extension when he still had a year to go. If the club had made him wait until late last year their decision and that of some players may have been different.

I think a lesson of hasty appointments may have been learnt. I have read that he should be given some slack due to being a reserves premiership coach and on the surface I understand that .However that side would have beaten a lot of league sides that year and could have just about coached themselves.

Can any Sturt member tell me if you need to be appointed to the Board or can it be done internally ?I once thought we members voted for the Board members after a period of time. Not sure we have the right football people on there at the moment.

Give the club a call on 8271 4611 and request a copy of the constitution HP. That should clear things up for you and you can then reconsider your mischievous rumblings both here and on the unofficial Sturt forum.

He got them to a Grand Final a couple of years ago. I think it's fair to suggest he's lost a lot of key players since then.

lol I think you've just sort of listed reasons as to why they wouldn't be justified.

Most coaches generally go looking for contract extensions when they are in an advantageous position, so I don't think Normans timing of looking for an extension is unusual.

Whether next season or further down the track, would the Blues be a chance of regaining any of the players they lost from last season? Was always going to be a massively tough gig to cope without then.

Of the 11 that have left only one has continued playing in the SANFL, that is Jace Bode, who may have left because of Norman but I'm not sure.
5 have retired, 1 to AFL, and 3 due to study or work commitments. Ryan Herring has mover to Perth, not sure what he is doing.
I will add that those outs and reasons given are taken from DB.Org.

Mischchievous rumblings ? You must be one of "those" supporters.

The question concerning the board is a legitimite question and as a member I thought I would have a say in who is on the board , like most boards in business and sport .

As a member you should know.

I've lost count how many times I've answered this same question on here.

It looks like you're now thinking he should be sacked?
