Oh well ,chin up it's only 1 bad game but don't take credit away from South .I can see with the same list in tact and a couple of key recruits they will finally give it a real crack in a year or 2.

South will win. ;)

about the only time i can recall souf beating us in a crucial game was back in '06, so its hardly a habit man :shock:

Ah well;
Great win by the lads today. 1 pt behind at 3/4 time -7 goals to zip in the last quarter to take the choccys.
Thewlis, Liddle, Stribling Gotch and Cross were very good . Thought Bass was pretty good in the ruck, and McKernan after recieving some "encouraging words"........ from Ron at 3/4 time finally had an influence in the last quarter.
As for "the palindromes", well I didnt notice them and I dont really care.
Umpiring = inconsistent, incompetent.
Such a pleasing win against our favourite team to beat- when it really counts.
Did someone mention the B---- word?

at least put my name to the quote pal

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty certain this is the first time South have won a game by over 39 points since a day at Richmond in 2007. When you've had so few wins in recent times it's not hard to remember them all :oops: ;)

Also, fantastic to see that result in the Under 18s. Shocked by that.

while the skill level by both sides were down i thought both teams had a crack, we dominated the 2nd term & poor kicking at goal to keep south in the game, then it was souths turn to dominate in the third & they had poor kicking at goal which in turn kept us in game, come the final term (at that stage i expected us to run out winners by 3 or 4 goals) the coaching move of the day was mckernan to full forward & mckernan kicks 3 very rapidly & the game was over as you could collectively see our heads drop, i didn't think kirk did much wrong on him in the last term, he was just too good......for those saying we wont make the 5 that is the most ridiculous statement i've heard, sure we lost, sure we were ordinary after half time but 1 loss doesn't mean the wheels will fall off (again)....for those that don't rate south you haven't seen much of them recently, yes they are up & down (young team, just like ours) i thought they could beat norwood last week so beating us wasn't a complete surprise to me yet i had the money on us :oops: :oops:, while no men left on the bench didn't help it isn't an excuse because basically it was the same last week, south knew & capitalised on it by using their pace & over running us....with that in mind i wish when teams get a run on we start a fight to quell the run on, even if they get a goal out of it, as i said we'll make the 5 however what was a top 3 chance is now out the door.....................................dissapointed YES, finals gone NO, the scary thing for me is south could be closer to a premiership than glenelg

Keep posting bayman. Always interested in reading your analysis of the game. It is both educated and unbiased and unlike a lot of us you don't get emotionally carried away whether your team wins or loses.

Fuller seems to have a knack of getting his players playing for him/each other and whilst his game plan is simple and old fashioned (which in no way is a bad thing) it is proving to be effective. It is interesting following South and seeing how they'll end up, both this season and in seasons to come.

Not good enough Bays, piss poor effort that ... just making up the numbers now really.

Well played to South for taking the game on in the last and reaping the rewards.
