Scored 2446 with Yarran, Lower and Newman all scoring 40's and Jack Riewoldt scoring in the 60's. My side is starting to take shape now and hopefully in all of my leagues i can nail the double chance and use it this year! Divvy 5 was the only league in which i won last years QF.

Some MASSIVE scores this week in Div 3.
I was lucky that i played Punk Rooster this week.

2132 with two zeros (Stevie J and Jolly), Isaac Smith getting 10 and Savage getting 21.
It's Somma Time!

Shattered man this week. After nine players I was absolutely flying but on Sunday the wheels fell off. Should avoid relegation but a really bad result for me here. Never missed the finals in any league before but I'm gone in this one.

REB's thoughts at the start of the year -

Browny’s Boys

You can’t send Browny’s Boys to do a man’s job ha ha. Nah, he’s a gun honestly. Browny isn’t bad but this isn’t the Herald Sun and this isn’t REB’s top 50. 9-12 with only the occasional flash of brilliance.

Thanks mate ;) 8)

Pretty tight at the top in this league as the Toolman becomes yet another ladder leader a mere one match out from the finals. The black ninjas are making a late charge and could yet snaffle a spot in the eight but it looks all over for the sides on six wins. My REBCats could still go down which would be a bit rude as the ladder is showing that I have copped more score against than any coach in the league.

I'll have a tough last round match against Carpys to see if I can stay ahead of the Kiwi and remain in Division III next season. Really looking forward to the finals to see how this one turns out even if I will only be a spectator. I reckon whoever goes up from this division will really put the heat on in Division II next year which is ranked way below Division III in the league rankings. Problem is, Division IV outranks Division III so the teams who come up from there could be on the rampage as well.

I have 8 left. Going to have to use one of them on Newman. Hoping Robert Murphy comes back after the bye.

4....im in a bit of trouble with the newman injury as my defence is already light on......as long as I make the prelim finals and gain promotion to divvy II then a GF spot will be a bonus.

Very interesting last round. By my calcs if Delidio, Priidis and Foley score 246 or more between them then I will win my match. Also cdfc devils looks like losing as do the black ninjas who will lose to Les.

8th spot by my reckoning will go to Les if I lose, but if I win then Les still might get it if he can make up the 0.56% difference. If not then I may be a chance of sneaking in the 8!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Round 15 saw a crackerjack finish to Division III with the league's highest scorer, Les's Men deservedly sneaking into the top eight after defeating a number of teams circling around the middle of the table. The unlucky team to drop out was cdfcdevils who lost form at the wrong time of the season. If I had to nominate the unluckiest coach in Hogg history I would nominate Jim's TigerRoos. For the second year running Jimbo has racked up a heap of points but has failed to win enough games to make the finals. The TigerRoos missed out on the top eight by a .12 of a percentage point!

Toolman is looking the goods to win this flag and I reckon that Browny's Boys will go up with him but the other two promotions are less clear. The relegations though have been decided and Kiwi Krapper's Carp Diem, Relentless 22 and winless Punky will all be going down and an invite to participate in the Bunny next year will also be heading Punky's way.

Good luck to all coaches in the finals. More write ups to come.

Hogg Division III Finals Preview

Division III has proven to be a very competitive league with up to four sides missing the finals who would have been worthy finalists (well maybe 3!). Delicious and Stats That Matter set the pace early but during the latter stages of the season Brownys Boys and especially Toolman have firmed strongly as Div III premiership favourites.

Of course there is plenty to play for with the top four sides of this division earning promotion to Hogg Division II next season, a division that was weaker than this one in 2011. Such is the tight nature of this competition that trying to pick winners will be very tough and it won’t be much easier trying to predict who might go up either. I reckon Toolman and Browny should go up but keep in mind that 8th ranked Les’s Men is actually the top scoring team of this division so it’s on for young and old here.

Qualifying Finals

1. Toolman vs. 4. Stats That Matter

The prize on offer in these qualifying finals is huge. Whoever wins them earns promotion to Division II. Both teams in this match would be worthy candidates for promotion or premiership honours. Both sides have topped the table during the year but recent form has me leaning towards a Toolman victory. The loser of this one could be facing Les’s Men in a knockout final next week so this one is huge. Stats will give a yelp here and there won’t be much in this one but Tooly looks too strong.

2. Brownys Boys vs. 3. Delicious

Browny has his boys primed for a finals assault but comes up against a Delicious combination that has a fine finals record. I had Browny as missing the eight at the beginning of the year (as he loves pointing out to me LOL) so he has really come on this season and Delicious has maintained the high standards he set last year. I believe that Browny and Toolman have been the form teams during the run home so I’m selecting Brownys Boys to triumph and get the week off and the promotion to Division II next season. At least he won’t be around to beat me in Divvy III next year!

Elimination Finals

5. Pidgeridoo vs. 8. Les’s Men

Many coaches might have been guilty of underestimating Pidgeridoo over the course of the season as he is the lowest scoring team in the top eight. Last week however the Pidge scored an impressive 2438 to show that he can compete with the heavy hitters of this division. It doesn’t come much heavier though than Les’s Men who are the top scorers in Division III. It would have been a travesty for Les to miss out but his Men are there but they’ll need to continue on with their high scoring ways to bluff their way past Pidgeridoo. I’m tipping that Les’s Men can get the job done based on consistency of scoring over the entire season and that Pidge won’t crack 2400 when it matters this week.

6. Loathsome vs. 7. Hips Don’t Lie

Loathsome is another side who won a premiership last season and is trying to back it up with another this year. This week they play against Hogg rookies Hips Don’t Lie in their Elimination Final in what should be a top quality contest. Hips have given many sides the shake this season but I reckon that Loathsome will be the winner in this one in a real toss of the coin job. I’m probably selecting Loathsome on the strength of last year’s finals performances but to be fair there won’t be much in it. Loathsome just.
