Grocke is basically a victim for his hard at it approach - what did he actually do? I know the play stopped for a minute while the other players stood there waiting for the next act of play, and he was being reported. No reaction from the crowd, nothing from the players, why is this bad enough to go to the tribunal for?

Will be very interesting now to view the Magarey Medal votes on this match, to see if there is any credence to the theory that reported players don't get votes. Cicolella and Grocke would almost certainly fill the votes with Chris Knights, I would think.

Reported players are not supposed to get votes. If they do get votes the umpires have gone against their own instructions.

Forgot to record the game so will have to wait for when it's on iView to see for myself, but wondering about the tackle on Parry deep in West's forward line that resulted in him coming off the ground late in the game after appearing to hit his head (about 20 min mark)..was there anything in it from those who saw it?

**Is this what Aaron Fielke is up for??**
Trust the process.

With a more AFL style to it; which is why we are seeing more reports this year.

That report on Grocke was an absolute joke it happens about 20 times every AFL game - that umpire is incompetent just ask ron fuller

Same here and agreed, it will have to be looked at by the tribunal, surely, and with his poor record, Parry could be in trouble.

Also, do any Westies people know what Brad Fisher had written on the top of his left hand?

Parry's was pure aggression at the player with the ball , which 2 years ago you would applaud , but he will get a game.

Grocke's was weird, the game has stopped but it seemed as he was the only one that had not heard the whistle. From a distance he looked like he was trying to punch the ball ahead. If he struck a player he will get a game due to his record.

Cica, didn't see it so can't comment.

I think Cica is the only one who should be suspended. His bump was on Logan Hill when he could not have reasonably assumed he was going to be bumped was a pretty low act for mine.

Grocke's was very minor and basically just missed the arms and collected the head instead, albeit pretty softly and the 25m penalty given was the appropriate penalty.

Tend to agree wyc, Cica's was more unnecessary than anything, and whilst he didn't seem to hit Hill too hard, it stunned Hill because he wasn't expecting it and was 5-10mts from the player with the ball, so probably a game.

Grocke's was one of those awkward ones where a player gets caught out of position by a quick kick and doesn't have time to reacts and doesn't get his rythym to jump.

Was Fielke's an elbow to Broadbent's head just behind play in the third quarter, Eagles were clearing from their half back line? TV just caught the edge of something, but they never replayed it

Watching it live on TV at the time I thought Grocke's report was ridiculous

Fielke's was for a tackle i believe.

Also on Cica's i agree it wasn't the most forceful of bumps but when you are completely open it doesn't take the same force to do damage.

Looked at Grocke's report many times, frame by frame. Grocke's eyes are clearly on the ball, his fist actually punches the ball and it diverts downwards to the ground. In the process of effecting the punch the inside of Grocke's arm contacts/brushes the West players head. If Grocke is lumbered with the one game ban the tribunal will have lost all credibility.

The way the West player reacted anybody would have thought he had been shot by a 303.

Just watching the game now and there is a close up shot of Fiaher giving the ball back to the ump and it looks as though there is about 4 things written on his hand in black texta?

Motivational things I'm assuming or it could be the shopping list to grab on the way home from the game? ;)
My guess is that Bread Fishstiks has to write down some of Collins pearls of dribble in texta so they last just in case of a bad injury that requires a boring trip to hospital .... a good laugh is always the best medicine heh :)

Surely not for the tackle on Parry? There was a little bit of untoward stuff oafter that, but this tackle seemed purely a football thing, even though it did leave Parry a bit dazed.

And there might be one lucky Blood out there then ;)

Well if you have gone through it " frame by frame", that should be good enough for everyone.

Rightly, Grocke found not guilty.
Unsure how three panel members could look at the incident, find Grocke guilty and offer a one match suspension when if they had looked at it thoroughly the charge would have been withdrawn. What kind of replay were they doing their review from.........a charcoal drawing!!!!!!!
Not good enough, not professional enough.
