FFS, she was a junkie, who was only more iconic for being a junkie than being a singer... :?

The age of 27 must be one that musicians who live on the edge of life start to get nervous about - Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Brian Jones and now Amy Winehouse.

To the thread topic at hand - the Daily Mail in London, who has chosen to print pictures of people carrying her body out (covered) of her house  :?
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

I know I'm so out of the "scene" when I've only ever heard of that name and nothing else. I didn't even know she was actually a singer, to be honest. And I take pride in knowing that I have never heard a Justin Bieber song, either. :P :p If the way that people go on about him (or her) is anything to go by.

Agreed and perhaps Im being a little harsh, but I stand by the fact it being reported as a "tragedy" are a little OTT with the current major news story from Norway to consider.

yep but don't worry I'm sure there's plans to rename an airport after her...it's what we do these days to celebrate junkies, alcoholics and domestic abusers who happen to be famous.

Don't see the problem with it myself, not that I've ever used it or would ever be likely to. If someone is hell bent on having an affair then they'll have one. There might as well be a site catering to such folk; better than than having them trawling legitimate singles sites for the purpose. I daresay that facebook has contributed far more to marital infidelity, just on stories I hear.

The real joke is the badly-disguised infomercials for that website such as what was broadcast on the Today show this morning. The interviewer feigns indignance and condemnation of the CEO (? whatever he was), all the while giving him a platform to spruik his product. The first time I'd ever heard of AshleyMadison was in the print media, in an article decrying the website. I bet that as a result, AshleyMadison's client base doubled overnight. Money can't buy publicity like that.

That's it. Marriage is just a piece of paper IMHO. I don't see why people decide to get married, and then have affairs when things get tough. It comes down to personal morals.

Sorry, too deep for a Monday morning :D
