Using paypal

Postby Sploosh » Wed Mar 21, 2007 6:38 pm

I've never used paypal, but I want to spend $20 on a gaming website membership. There seems to be an option where you can use paypal, even though you don't have an account. You have to enter credit card details. I'm wondering;

has anyone ever used paypal in this way, i.e. with no paypal account. If so, was everything ok? No hidden fees or strange extra payments taken from your credit card?

My money through paypal comes out of direct debit from bank. I opened up another visa just for online shopping stuff which I top up before a buy.

Nope. It's the same as going to a shop... you get charged the amount.
The way Paypal make money is they charge people to take money out of it...

So if you have an online business and you use Paypal, every pays in to it to save you having CC facilites, but then when they withdraw from it, they pay a fee.

Thanks for those replies. So, I guess it's safe... I'll cross my fingers and take the paypal plunge, I guess.
