So the $1m cap for this "competition" was taken off the overall salary caps for each state? ie Shield, Ryobi and T20 or is it over and above the previous years caps?

Not sure of exact numbers, but the First Class/ODD cap is below last years total cap, but not $1m below. In essence there is more money available for those purely playing First Class/ODD than there was last year.

Right. From that I read that the players will be wanting an extra slice of the supposed increase in revenue over the coming years, agreed?

I'd be surprised if they didn't, it seems to be a given that the sportsmen that put on the show get a decent slice of the pie. This lot just have to bake the pie first.

Boonie, as I understand, last year, total salary cap for all SACA cricket was 1.5 mil, this year there are two distinct salary caps. t/20 is 1 mil and the 4 day and 1 day inclusive is 1 mil. I believe this has been in Advertiser on several occasions, so it must be right!!!!!!!!

So the little extra revenue the T20 comp raises will go back into player payments, running the event and less to grass roots/junior develoment? It will need to generate a heap of revenue.
