Yea I reckon that's the final nail. I like the bloke, and I still think he's a very good coach. I like the way he gets out amongst the fans before the game, and the players are very loyal to him despite on field results.

All that said, he's failed to re-invent himself and he just seems to be out of ideas. He was cutting edge when he first started, but the reality is everyone else has caught up and overtaken him in training methods and on field tactics.

He looked like he knew in that last quarter. Reckon he will call it. Triggy might convince him to see out the year still, but I can't see him getting any further than that.

As much as I think his time is up now, unless one of his assistants will take over next year no real good will come out of pulling the pin before the seasons end IMO. I think that he should come out and say he is seeing the year out and then the club can look at who they will appoint to take his job over the next 6-8 weeks. I honestly dont want to see any of his assistants get the gig to be honest. If he quits now and say Bickley takes over, we have port, brisbane, geelong, GC, richmond and west coast in the last 6 rounds. With or without Craig we could possibly win 3 of those 6 games. All of a sudden Bickley looks like a super coach and we appoint him and end up in a similar situation next year. How many clubs sack a coach and come out and win the next week? If he goes now I think that the results would be the same as if he were still there so why do it?

Good post, no gain in dicing him now and most would be content with an admission from the club that they will spend the next 6 weeks casting a line to get the best man for the job.

Just on the best man for the job. If it ends up anyone other than someone from within then so be it, we can't keep referring to Robert Shaw and his Victorian origins as a reason to keep up this incestuous in-breeding of people to guide the club and that includes the next CEO which I hope isn't too far away either. Trigg and that toothless joke of a board need to wear some responsibility for this as well.

Short answer, if you're not happy with the way it's going vote with your feet and watch them on tele rather than blowing a $100 or so taking the family for a look, then they'll get the idea.

He honestly thinks training 'form' is more important than what a player can offer on the ground in a GAME.

Dangerfield now in his bad books. Who next? This guy wil take us nowhere, sack him before it's too late.

Hello. Good call NFC.

As a NC supporter, I think the time was right for him to step aside. Not because he "lost the players" , not because he was a bad coach etc His time was just up!

He has made AFC Ultra Competative on and off the field, he has set the ethical and playing standards of the club for years to come, his legacy at AFC will be a positive one and no amount of NC bashing can change that.

His win loss ratio as coach has given us as supporters more happiness than heartache. If he is blammed for losses like he has this year and last, then he must be congratulated for the wins. fairs fair!

His time is done, but his impact on AFC cannot be understated. Adelaide media and the histerical minority of fans will over the coming weeks/months drag the AFC's name/players/CEO through the mud. The players wont leave 'purely because NC is gone' like has been mentioned re dangerfield. Infact the opposite. If NC is Dangerfields mentor and NC believes in this list so much why would he enourage him to leave? doesnt make sense but makes a great headline.
