Initially perhaps, but it should be spread across all 9 teams in 9 seasons .. Just because someone finished bottom the season before doesn't mean they shouldn't be considered a potential grand final candidate in the next new season (IMHO)

The chances of someone finishing bottom and then finishing top , earning a week rest , a very small . Two weeks off prior to your first final is ridiculous .Just play it safe and give it to the bottom team from the previous year - easy.

You're right, but to my mind, the competition should be even to all teams every year, and they shouldn't be carrying an almost "penalty" for their performance in a completely separate season .. Just my thoughts.

Dont they already do that with the higher teams playing the lower ones less each year?

eg finish last and only play the gf teams twice the next season etc... and play the lower placed teams 3 x>>

Not anymore I dont think mate .. Think the fixture revolves around 5 year cycles or the like, which is supposed to basically pit all teams, home and away, equally over the duration of the cycle. That's my understanding anyway.

I believe the draw now means that the teams you play 3 times in a season you will only play twice the following season and vice-versa.
