The dogs have been zoning (on kick-ins from points) since the 90s - probably early 90s.

A Flish is the seam of skin that runs between your anus and testicles.

It won quite a few before you were born junior and was a much better spectacle.

Unfortunately, the current style and congestion makes premierships unworthy of viewing to many.
Hopefully we won't have to bring in a bloody 'off-side rule' to make the game watchable again.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer watching complex footy played at frenetic pace.

Yeah, it’s certainly a personal choice ‘Q’, but what you now see as complex and frenetic, many now see as hamstrung
and chaotic. To me the backline play is boringly predictable and the hopeless congestion in the forward line seems to
negate long kicking, long leading, spectacular marking and clever goal shooting.
i.e. Everything I believe makes the game worthwhile.

I respect your preferences mate, even if it’s not to my liking. If differing views on the values of the game continue
to diverge, perhaps the time may come when Australian Rules will have to experience a split similar to Rugby Union
spawning Rubgy League. I hope it won’t come to that and with any luck, as you’ve stated in another post, I hope you
are right in believing that coaches will find a way to effectively counter unpalatable tactics at all levels.
Cheers,

It's all cyclical. This year in the AFL, long kicks are well up on previous years, high marking and contested footy are also, as is kicking to a contest. There are still a couple of sides playing 'keepings off' crap uncontested footy but they are virtually all in the bottom half of the ladder as that gameplan doesn't work against the frontal pressure applied by Collingwood, West Coast etc.
It's been a much better year in AFL IMO and as SANFL is usually 5 years behind with gameplans it is stuck in a crap stage of footy. Swings and round-abouts I reckon.

Saw 3 games on the weekend
PA V GL
WA V WT
SA V NW
I was very pleased at the style of umpiring in relation to the holding the baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall rule
In these games there was hardly a hot holding the baaaaaaaaaaaaall decision made

It appeared an obvious directive by the SANFL in this round to protect the ballgetter ?

This made watching all 3 games more attractive
It beats the frustration of often seeing instinctive ball getters getting unfairly pinged
