Yes, but we won those when there were other competitive clubs in a fair dinkum competition. Your flags have been Mickey Mouse. All of them.

I know your only responding to a wind up , but what's not fair dinkum about this comp? For those that love it, each premiership is treasured.
On that basis you better petition the SANFL to remove the flags the Legs won in the 1800's.

I don't understand how someone can do/watch/participate in something if they aren't that interested.

No legs are even better ... and obviously some flags are more equal than others ...

AH,
do you still go & watch norwood play ?
would you say that if norwood had won 9 of the last 11 flags ?

AH, you are usually on the money with your thoughts but sadly you are way off on this occasion
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Yep agree Bayman,

The way people carry on about Centrals premierships as non events, mickey mouse, terrible comp i would expect if their team wins this year premiership there will be no celebrations, no after parties, no premiership t-shirts etc etc.

It's called jealousy whufc. How do I know this? Because I'm ****ing jealous. I wish my club could have a period of pure domination like Centrals are having. Sure Port had some good times, but at least they were kind enough to slip down a couple of rungs every now and then. Sturt had the 60's, Norwood had 1800's (only MAL, AH and topsy can remember that though) and North often threatened, but faded quickly. Appreciate the good times now, because winter is a cold bitch when your not playing finals footy (unless of course you flee to the tropics).

Jim05 , if the League put a team up your clubs clacker then , how do you recken your following generations allegiances and their numbers would have gone ? I think your club has only 5 flags in well over half a century anyway right ! So we have alot of elderly followers that stay home and watch SANFL tv / Crows , thats just tough and the Eagles will in time turn young ones in the area into members , especially if our AFL clubs remain a JOKE ! Knocking off clubs like Norwood and Sturt from East of Adelaide is such a delight , no wonder Port made the most of it for the longest time ! Fighting above your weight ; one day your club should really try it , its very Australian mate :)

Only an observation, no need to get all upset. I believe your club has the 2nd or 3rd best membership in the league so my question was where were they on sunday?

Whenever Norwood plays the Eagles at Woodville, the home side always seems to have less fans in attendance. I did note however, that the Weagles 7 supporters only became vocal halfway through the last quarter, when the the game was done & dusted!

Yeah agree, thats the way all the long term Dogs supporters have felt about Port for all those years. While we lost to them in the 95' 96' GF's i just remember thinking 'lucky' bastards wish i was born into a team that was so successful. Its pretty well documented Central used the Port blueprint for success.

BUT if you told me at the begginning of the 2000 season when i was standing at Unley Oval in 35+ degree heat as the reserves side run out that the league would play in the next 11 GF's i would have asked you if you needed to be checked into Hillcrest.

Thats the difference between the casual Central supporter and the hardcore Central supporter, for the casual who rocks up to home games and then finals, or maybe even just finals they now think its a god given right to play in the GF and probably very naive about the work that is put into making it happen.

As for someone who goes to every game like myself i still get that feeling of amazement, disbelief when we make the GF like i felt when we won our way into the 95 GF. Buzzing all that night at the prospect of Grand Final week i always make sure i get to as many GF week functions/trainings etc etc as you never know when it may be another 35 year wait. I think the appreciation comes from seeing games like down at the Bay with only 17 men, or the thumping at the hands of West in the opening game etc

I hope it last forever! but for as certain as some people think this year is a one horse race there is nothing more certain the Central dynasty wont last forever and then it will be my turn to cop heaps i know

I (and many of the Nwd Spirit) didn't leave until well after the game. By that time a lot of the Weagle supporters (and a lot of the cars in the grassed car park) were gone. No, the Weagles supporters didn't upset me when they were leaving.

What guarantee is there that Godden, Fuller or any other coach will still be around next year? They're under contract you say? Well Bass is under contact for 2012. You don't list what team you support. Will your coach be around next year?

Unbelievable the amount of turnovers that turned good scoring opportunities into goals for the Eagles. Granted it could have been physical pressure from the Eagles, but a lot were when a player wasnt within cooeee. Perhaps we arent running the game out. Thats 3 in a row where the legs didnt win the last qtr.

With Godden as your coach I'm not sure I'd be bringing up the matter of coaches, he cost you a GF appearance last year.

There's a fair chance Fuller will coach a flag before Godden I would have thought, he can actually do the job after all.
