Here we go again!!!
Most of you wouldn't have a clue about where Tailem Bend is at. The points system is the biggest issue for Tailem Bend. If there wasn't a points system then I know Tailem Bend would be able to field a side that would compete very strongly with the top 3, but this wonderful system and their lack of depth forces them to play the 17's lads. The players the club has had to turn away because of this system is cruel. You have no idea!!!

that is the benifit of the system you cant just go out and get a new 5 players every year.

I think the points system is starting to work, and I'm involved with one of the lesser populated clubs, our biggest trouble is affording to get players to use all our points up, so I'd be interested to know where taliem are continually coming up with more money to get more and more players,, by what your saying big fulla, is that points is taliems issue as money is ours

Wow, I didnt think of that![]()
Bottom line, points system doesn't help when you have to turn away good players because you cant fit them in to your cap. Current reality. You say benefit, I say detriment.

happy wrote:The points system has not changed the results of the RMFL. The local teams are still on top and the outer teams struggle to get under the points. Take notice of this. Taliem for example are way over the points allowed so they have to play a handful of kids that are not ready for A Grade footy. Does that do the kids any justice playing senior footy when they are not ready.
Take the points away Taliem field a very strong side. Who knows those recruits may stay 3 or 4 years. Those recruits Imps got didnt warrant the same allocation of points that Taliem got. At the end of the day money is driving country footy and until clubs bond together and say we are not being dictated by footballers chasing the big dollars I dont think this will get resovled.
