agree. the only reason any player plays is for the glory of a premiership, so why risk getting injured for nothing. Thats why state of origon was cut as well. lets get back onto the topic of real hills footy.

Even though the Doggies have lost Klun, I reckon the Devs might struggle this week and lose grip on #3, maybe even the 5. Although in the past, the Dogs are nowhere near their best without Klun.

I've heard Blackwood posters have been gagged due to in house fighting getting out of hand and the possibility of a move to the SFL in 2012. Officials from Blackwood have approached SFL officials to discuss the move.

What more does Rowett have to do to crack Blackwoods A grade. Or does he need to run special errands for the A grade coach and become a favorite son.

How even is the competition at the moment? Apart from Uraidla and Bridgewater (top & bottom) the rest are very close. What has happened to Mt Barker, defeated by sides outside the five in the last two matches, havn't heard much from Lebron on here. Barkers have another tough one this week in Onkas. Fifth spot could well come down to the last game of the season between Onkas and Bankers. Very interesting.

My thoughts,
IB are in exactly the same position as last year. Good draw to come with the Top 3 out of the way. Really need to win these 50:50 games coming up.

Onkas: If they beat Mt Barker this weekend they will finish at least 4th.

Handorf: In really good recent form, knocking off Mt Lofty and Mt Barker. Also have a good run home so keep a sharp eye on them.

Mt Lofty are in big danger of missing the 5. Tough draw, poor recent form and a few key long term injuries.

Of course, now that ive written off Mt Lofty, they'll probably sneak into 5th, and go on to make the GF against Uraidla....

With 7 teams still able to make finals, I thought it be interesting to look at how each team has matched up against other finals contenders to give a true indication of how teams are really travelling with 5 games to go.

.........W...L...D....Games remaining against other top sides
Urad....7...0.................(5)
Black...5...4..................(3)
Onka...5...4..................(3)
Iron.....4...5...1............(2)
Mt.L....3...5...1.............(3)
Mt.B....3...5.................(4)
Hahn....3...7.................(2)

With Mt Lofty struggling to cope with injuries, Mt Barker struggling to knock off top sides (with 4 more top sides still to play) and Ironbank and Hahndorf both still to play the Bottom 3 sides could we see Mt Lofty and Mt Barker miss finals?

This is with the assumption that all teams will beat the bottom 3 sides however in saying that these teams still cant be taken lightly (just ask Onkas and Ironbank)

I think if anyone can knock off Uraidla in the next 5 weeks, It would be like getting a win up on everyone.

I have a few concerns travelling to the Kennel this week. Not only are Klun and Woolford still to come back into the side but someone PLEASE tell me that Nick Smart who played B grade on saturday will not be making a come back into their A grade. If they still have these 3 very good midfielders to come back in to their side i can really see Onkas lifting another gear or 2

So I assume you have just written lobethals chances off of making finals? They have beaten both onkas and iron bank this year and play them in the last five rounds, and have pushed hahndorf, blackwood and lofty! Anything could happen!

So you have given lobethal zero chance of making the finals? They have beaten both onkas and iron bank already and really pushed the other 3 teams they face in the run home! Anything could happen!

So you have obviously given loby no chance of makin the five? They did beat onkas and iron bank last time, and really pushed hahndorf, blackwood and lofty so anything could happen!

If Loby are good enough to make the 5, they are good enough to make the GF because to do so they will need to beat Blackwood, Onkas, Mt Lofty and Ironbank at the Paddock, all will be very tough.
Loby are a good side and have done amazing this year but in this years tight comp being 3 wins out of the 5 just isn't gonna happen. Think they will give it a real shake in 2012 though

Did I hear correctly that Mclean got a reprimand after receiving a red card?

I thought a red card meant 2 weeks suspension.

IB had a player go to the tribunal a few weeks back after receiving a red, plead guilty, has a good record, the umpire came in and said the red card was probably harsh and wasn't much in it....and got 2 weeks?!

How's that work?

Don't get me started on the HFL Tribunal - the whole lot need a clean out and replaced with people that have got any sort of touch with reality!

Their inconsistantcies are glaringly obvious and it is a massive blight on the league. The problem, the board and the commissioners are all mates with eachother and think they're doing a "brilliant" job.

Does seem to be a problem when Ironbank player gets 2 and one of the commissioners is Nunan's dad and Ironbank play Mt. Barker the week after....conflict of interest?????

While we're all having a b!tch and moan, how do Uraidla get away with having icy cold showers in the away changerooms? I cant recall EVER having a hot shower there. Can anyone here?

Get a decent instant gas like everyone else in the hills!
