Round 16 - CD v West @ Elizabeth - 2.10pm Sat 16/7/11

Postby GWW » Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:32 am

West, coming off the bye in round 15, have the toughest task in SANFL footy this week when they come up against home team Central District.

The Bloods early season form was excellent, however I can't see them having a realistic chance of causing an upset against the Bulldogs, who I think will win by around 10 goals.

Will be interesting to see who comes in for Obst.

Gunston is starting to play some really good football in the backlines and may even be selected by the Crows so dont know if he will be the long term answer up forward.

Wouldnt mind seeing one Nick White or Hynes given a crack as a forward in the league side.

The Bulldogs will be looking to avenge the drubbing that Westies gave us in Round 2.

Obst or no Obst I'm sure the side will be wanting to extract some revenge on West for the debacle in round 2. That, with West's ordinary form going into the game, will most likely mean Centrals will win and win by over 10 goals.

Considering Centrals are our bitches, after all we have won one in a row against them and if West get some of our better players back and a fair and resonable umpiring display I can see a 45 point margin..........to the Dogs :(

We need Lawry, Buckets & Schell back....and quickly too! We are running out of big blokes. West by 7 points.

Centrals must be concerned with how much time Obst spends on the side lines through injury he seems to find a way to be continually missing games.

Would be a fair upset if we won this one. We can stretch them for height, we are fresh off the bye, we won earlier this year against them.....still as a passionate supporter I am finding it hard to see us winning this one. Maybe catching our breath over the bye will allow us to get back to the footy we were playing earlier in the year.

He does you are right it is most definatly a concern especially when the other forward Havelberg has been known to miss games as well. Its no surprise that blokes who consistently get injured consistently get injured some peoples body arent made to take the toll that they put it through.

Lucky we have a fair bit of depth, which is the difference between a great club and mediocre club that plays West of Adelaide.
