TAS V NSW PURA CUP FINAL

Postby mal » Sun Mar 18, 2007 12:56 am

Starting on a Monday.
WHY ?
What sponsor are they appeasing ?
OR
they dont want to compete with the AFL preseason cup?
Whatever the reason, a strange time to start a final.

Cant pick the winner, hope the best team wins.

FOX SPORTS!!!
That is why it is a Monday - Friday gig.
They said that they would provide ball by ball coverage, if it was played when they want, so the ACB bent over and took it.

Yep, Foxtel said they would show the whole thing live if it was played Monday to Friday but they wouldn't be able to show it on the weekend. I suppose some golf tournament from Siberia is more important to the Australian sporting public

Thanks BRAD/ROD I knew there must be a reason.
Makes me wonder how long it will be when we have a evening all night o/d game for the viewers.
Dont matter to me when they play the p/c final, I will still watch it.
Just a readjustment by the players playing on a Monday[and over 5 days as well]

CA couldn't give a shit about the spectators at games. Theres a fair amount of games that go from Tuesday to Friday every year. They dont care if no one turns up.

Would be good to see Tassie win
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Tasmania 5/98 with Douggie Bollinger tearing the Tigers a new one with three wickets on day one. What a domestic cricketer this bloke is. He'll never wear the baggy green but he hits the crease and the wicket hard and tries his heart out. GO YOU BLUEBOYS.

Our REB is a strange unit, consider this -

Lives in QLD
Supports NSW
Supports Geelong
Supports Norwood

nothing like spreading your sporting interests Australia Wide!

I may be a voice in the wilderness here....but...the fact that the game's starting on a Monday is no great consequence to me.
Is it not better to have the Pura Cup Final on television, albeit pay, than not at all?
Is it better for exposure.

If the CA hadn't "bent over and taken it" would there be no tv coverage?

Let's be realistic - it's noly us traditionalists and grass roots supporters that really care enough to turn up, and that means that there aint that big a crowd.

BTW - go Tassie!!!!!! They can come back from this.

I have a mate there at the match, and he reckons it's wonderful right now.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Fair effort by NSW to make the final, no Lee, McGrath, Haddin, Clark, Bracken or Clarke, mind you only Haddin and Bracken played significant amounts this year for NSW.....

Gee can we imagine how sh!t SA would be without its six best players.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
