One of my mates that plays out there said they had their rams ball so that may have something to do with the two cars

Great win by the boys on the weekend. Shame our 2's couldnt get up in the end. Once again the club umps were at their best in the 2's. Serial offender for PH was his typical biast, over officiated but still under called game. Our ump was shocking also. Protecting the bloke over the ball would be good. Not making up rules as you go along would be even better. Every year and every time we play PH their ump is as good as it doesnt get. It just ruins the game.

The same thing would be said for the so called SAAFL umpires that were supplied. That old bloke was an idiot. The younger bloke wasnt much better.
Thought McCurry had a great game. Prior was great and Wareing was far too good for his opponent. Thought the run and carry was great to see. I havent seen the A's play for a couple of weeks. I might have been keeping an eye elsewhere but i didnt see much of the runner heading out to Bamford on Saturday? I still feel playing and coaching does not make much benefit. Only positives i can see is the leadership on the ground but if your not having a good game yourself it doesnt flow. All round a good day. PH supporters were grea. Low in numbers tahn what ive been used to. Next week will be a big one. Unpredictable but still can get up and about GG should be a good day for all three games.

Bamford had plenty of it early but due to sickness when the game appeared out of reach he sat the rest of the game out, hence why you wouldnt have seen the runner go out to him in the second half of the game.

If u have a good assistant on the sidelines and the players play the way you tell them I can't see a problem. And also if you play yourself in the right position so you can see the whole game then it can work beautifully. You just have to have that trust between yourself and your assistant.

i agree, and to be honest Para Hills without Bamford playing would be struggling alot more than they are at the moment

SMOSH & Mitcham was a good game although both sides were undermanned, SMOSH were alot cleaner with the footy when going forward & deserved the win. Mitcham should have a full squad to pick from in their As this week.
The Thunder take top spot & are looking the goods at present, who will miss out on finals action?

Portland - Obviously play finals, to play off for the top spot against Mitcham. With R17 being the game that will sort that out. We should finish top and look forward to the week off and keep an eye on the rest.
FP - Will be there but i think they may finish 3rd
Mitcham - I feel will finish 2nd
Smosh - To finish 4th or step aside for Pooraka.
Pooraka - stay where they are but i have this feeling they could finish 4th on the way home.

Dark horse to maybe finish in the 5 could be Seaton but they would just make up the numbers IMO. Not the side they were in the first 4 rounds and not what they have been. Seaton have a tough road ahead, they may sneak one but it only look slike tey would only get a win against PH in round 18.

Totally agree about PH b-grade umpire. Was disgusted with what I saw. Inventing free kicks to keep his team in the game and no regard for head high contact to opposition players. One of the worst I've seen.

can I just say the antics shown by the Mitcham President on saturday were a disgrace, the guy was out of line and just looking for trouble, he is very lucky it didn't escalate. It was a blight on what was a fantastic game of footy. SMOSH started strong then Mitcham pegged it back and from half time on it was pretty much goal for goal. Scott Camporeale showing he still had some run in his legs with some great touches...

The Pres is a passionate man, and he does get fired up about his footy. I didn't see what happened, but certainly heard about it.

Firstly - we've taken responsibility for what happened at our home ground when (in our opinion) the sirent went early. Our stuff up, and we paid the consequences.

But on Saturday, the first quarter was rediculously short. 3 minutes short according to our fully timed clock on the bench. So we sent over one of our officials to make sure the bloke was doing his job properly. He wasn't - he was only stoping the clock for goals, not boundry throw ins or when time on was called. Obviously we complained to him first, and the bloke replied "I don't care, I'm doing it my way!". Believe we complained to the match day official. Things obviously got rather heated, and eventually the bloke spat the dummy and someone else took over, doing it correctly for the rest of the game.

If you don't want fired up supporters and officials - can I suggest you get someone capable of doing a somewhat simple job, and someone who actually knows the rules (yes - aware of the irony).

As for the game - it was a good tussle all day. We missed our chances in the last with 4 behinds to SMOSH's 2 goals. Can't say I rated Camporeale's game - didn't think he had a huge impact. Appreciated the beers put on after the game. Looking forward to hopefully coming up against SMOSH in the finals.

Also when we sent someone over to keep an eye on their timekeeper he was copping it because he kept telling the bloke he wasnt doing it right. Yeah our pres is passionate and all clubs would like that but get someone to do it right next time. Or it will end up like what happened at Mitcham.
On camporeale I thought he didn't really have an impact. Looked pretty slow. Prob better for the run. When there was some push and shove one of our blokes said to him'who are you? You trying to make a name for yourself' was a great game IMO and will be better when both sides are full strength.

Comes down both clubs were at fault. No one to blame but the attitude of both people would need to improve, as both clubs are better then that. The match day Offical handled the situation well. 2 big personallities clashing both would not step down.

On the game is was a very good game to watch. Both sides very physical and was close all day. both sides had the momentum and chances to win the game. As for the Push and shove would not have happened if it was not for a gutless cheap shot. 1 smosh player got sent off and the mitcham player got away with it. (this happens) third in always gets the treatment. Mitcham have some very classy ball movers and some quality forwards. Smosh should be getting a few players back but also lost another one to injury, cant get a break at the moment, but 3 good wins in a row shows we have got some good depth at the club. Campo was great for the younger lads and did not dominate the game. but what he did was quality, did not waste a touch and in the wet conditions you could see his class. On behalf of the club it was great to have him out there and back to the club for a beer. hope to see him out there a few more times.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Who, when asked what time he had on his clock, replied "I don't know, I've lost track...."

Not taking sides whatsoever, but I did think that was gold..

Both sides are supposed to supply a time keeper for the entire match - not just send one over to "keep an eye on things" or to argue with the bloke doing the job when you think something is not right - if you don't supply a time keeper then you have to suck it up and take what you get - no point having a "fully timed clock on the bench", the timekeepers are supposed to sit together. I bet there were plenty of people standing around drinking beer and complaining instead of putting their hand up to do something useful for their club

Would have thought after the debacle last time between Mitcham and SMOSH played someone would have seen each team had an official timekeeper

My point is every club has an opportunity to have a time keeper - if they choose not to then so be it but don't complain about the consequences after the event

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
