Apparently had a heavy shower of rain b4 the 1st race.
Drivers complained of poor visibilty after the race and the remainder of the meeting was called off.

GDP 23/7 Saturday night
SKY Commentator had this to say after the $1-20 fav MR FUGI won the 2 year old trotters race by lizards lip

" Its just sickening to see that whip use on those 2 year olds ""

BIG cALl
I reckon anyone who took the short odds would be glad of any excessive whipping

as a matter of fact i heard that as well from allan gaskell & sent an email to sky suggesting that while i don't mind him talking through his pocket, his statement was offensive about the whip was seeing that in south australia ''whip pads'' are used so the noise 'sparks' them to perform rather than the hit, still waiting for a reply......will post the reply in due course

Also heard that comment and immediately thought "what a weird comment considering that happens in every harness and gallop race".
So is he saying that it's alright to whip older horses and just not 2 y.o. ?

Is this the same commentator that i've heard totally bag the S**T out of Tattsbet twice in the last week or so about paying $1.00 money back about a horse, saying it's totally unethical to be only able to lose and not win and it's a joke where as at least the other 2 tabs offer $1.04.

The whipping issue and the money back issue being bagged by a Sky racing commentator wouldn't go down too well i would've thought with the Gallop & Trotting clubs who ultimately pay to keep this bloke in a job. Think they'd be looking for a bit more of a positive input from him.
