Well played by Norwood. Played smarter football all day, and should have won by more. North had too many passengers. They had a dip, but are just lacking a class midfielder or 2.

Best players for North - Thiele, Bennett, Thring and Ackland who did a fantastic job in the ruck all day.

2nd 1/4 did North in badly, were lucky Norwood left the door open but to North's credit that just fought and fought, if not for some undisciplined acts by the skipper in the last 1/4 who knows what may have happened. Clint Alleway is a great footballer but he has been found out the last 2 weeks in defence, tries he hardest perhaps too hard back there. Get him back up forward. (not sure but they said on the telecast he may have been reported again)

The bright side of the day, North were a hell of alot better than last week, they showed that they dont need Jimmy Allan getting 40 touches a week to be in with a show, perhaps with 40 from him today they may have won, who knows, all in all, was very pissed off with North's lack of fight in the 2nd 1/4 (IMHO cost them the game) rest of the game they matched it with the side i think will take out the Premiership this year.

Also isn't it great to see a bit off biff and some good old fashion footy with everyone having a go not like the powder puff stuff the AFL dishes up week in week out ;)

I did ask to leave the LIVE scores thread open as I am still here at The Parade watching the Under 18's, but I can see that thread was getting a little off track.

LIVE @ THE PARADE

UNDER 18's:

Quarter Time

N'wd - 8.3 = 51

North - 0.1 = 1

The Redlegs under age side doing it very easily, obviously as reflected in the scoreboard also.

North coach Heath Younie giving his side a nice old blast, a few 'F Bombs' being dropped as well !!!

A shame the umpires didn't get that memo, they destroyed the game.

Did Gallman touch the ball?

Just a few years ago I loved the way the SANFL was umpired. They were consistent, they let the play flow and let most things go, but I can now safely say that the standard is no better than that at AFL level.

DISGRACEFUL.

They are turning the local comp into an absolute joke.

I can't believe that North got so close. They played panic footy, grab & kick, no plan & no STRUCTURE! Walker is a thug & Norwood are gone! ;)

I think what we seen today is the new standard. Didn't have an effect on the game, was just confusing at times.
