one day we will all wake up and find one single comp (maybe not that far away). imo.
pdca & churches sound like were all in the same boat.....maybe merges or maybe alot of retirements .
either way if we sit back and do nothing we all might aswell play marbles......
so maybe instead of complaining (no one in peticular) get up and do something to help our assocs, :?
just my thoughts for today.

Is it true you are playing in ATCA this season Smasha?

maybe, unsure as to what I am doing.... but the call of playing turf is strong ;)
loved playing turf, but not young or fit anymore , so will see at training sessions.

Craigmore recruited any new players this season?

How is the coach seeking going?

The same Duck-Mann who retired at the end of last season? That didn't last too long.

Early days mate... nothing in concrete till the first ball is bowled.
May have secured a new U16's coach and U11's coach.
Both are looking promising..
As for players have received plenty of emails from overseas players wanting to play but depends on if we can find them wives...
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Anyone know if Hewitt and Dongley are still going to suit up for Craigmore this summer?

Ive heard that Papas may not even be playing this season?? Rumour mill doing its job again... Im sure he'll be around soon to fill us in but if Papas doesnt play I doubt the Montgomery boys will go to Craigmore, pretty sure he's mates with them and thats why they were looking at the move. Ive been known to be wrong so will wait for Papas to clear that one up.....

I hate seeing head clashes but with these 2 running between the wickets albion better create a very good helmot next season..

Talking about rumours, are you and SYL still heading to Smithfield?

Hasn't he cleared that up enough yet? catchit was never approached and had never announced any intentions of coming to Smithfield. He got a mention after SYL had announced some intention to suit up for us for 11/12.
You are barking up the wrong tree Browny, catchit and I had a brief discussion about it on GF day and that was only because somebody else brought it up while we were both there.
Would love to have Legs steaming in from the Creek end and catchit keeping the young fella's mind on track in the top order but we wont pursue it too hard, we'll just continue to develop our kids and hopefully snare someone that wants to bring some experience and idea's to our great club.
We have a great bunch socially, good incentives and a bright future, a year in Grade 1 already has given our youth the taste that's required to want to remain a part of it and gradually become successful.

Well said LM, rumours are only rumours, not until someone shows there full desire and commitment to join another club, then it is all talk. Smithfield is on the right track with its cricket, alot of good people are currently involved with the cricket scene, and plenty of young talent that will keep the club running in the future. I know that id rather play at a club with blokes that year in year out play at the club because they love the club, and that is something that i feel smithfield has right now. Bring on 2011/2012

Seen it all too many times mate to learn to never count your chickens, you are right, you play with the cards you are dealt with and make the most of your opportunities, a champion team will always beat a team of champions.
