One hit wonders at your club

Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

There was another Centrals Full Forward I can recall around the same time (not sure if it was early or mid 90's), he kicked a heap of goals in the Reserves from memory. May have played a few League games.

I think his name was Brett Minchington or something like that. I was watching a game in the Mid South East League in the mid 90's and saw him playing there. He may have then moved to the Barossa League.

We had a few FFs around that time: Minchington, Richardson, Niesen, Sickerdick.

I know you love Coffee. ;)
I just didn't mention him, as he actually had a prolonged career.

Wasn't Sickerdick a defender?

He left Centrals to play for his home club Mannum in the late 80's/early 90's when Dean Mobbs coached there.

David Buckley was there at the time too and won a Mail Medal in I think 1990.

Was Niesen originally from Port?

Spoke to Grant Coffee this evening about former Doggies full forward Adam Richardson and he said he doesn't know where Richo went after he left Central?

I remember a young lad at Central in the early to mid 90's, from memory, who played a bit of reserves over a couple of seasons, came in and played a handful of league games and then don't know where he ended up after that.

His name was Christian Macri, had a heap of talent, as a key position player from memory and I think he wore number 8.

Richo played a couple of years at Gepps Cross before heading over to Woodville South when they were charging through the divisions.

Then moved back to Cummins on the West Coast and played for his junior club, being Great Flinders powerhouse Ramblers. Still here running his own electrical business. Nice bloke

Was it his uncle / relative that died in the Port Lincoln fires a few years ago ? I used to work with his cousin who was a pretty handy footballer for Blackwood, and played a game for South.

I think he'd already won a few by the time he tried out with Glenelg. I heard he played well in 1 or 2 Reserves games (I'm not certain if he made his League debut or not?), but didn't get on that well with Kerley so decided to return to the RMFL.

Yep, Bayden Cybulka was a bush legend, a centreman, but never played a league game. Last sighting of him was teaching in Murray Bridge. Won a bucket full of Mail Medals and was brought to Adelaide by Glenelg to play in the 1967 Reserves finals, much the same way as Barrie Robran at North the year before.

Cybulka was simply a class above that level and was B.O.G. in the GF against North Adelaide. I think most people expected him to return to Adelaide in 1968 where he would have definitely played league, but he never fronted. Would have been interesting to see how he went.
