A gritty, hard fought win by the side today, made even better the fact we were quite undermanned today. The game was hard and tight all day, with the biggest margin 15 points (the Eagles early in the second), and the biggest margin we had being 7 points. Given the tight, tough nature of the game, I was wondering when we'd get the game tieing goal, then out of nowhere Dunne goes for a goal and kicks the goal of the game. Then Eddie kicked the sealer, but it was still too early to sit back and relax as the Eagles fought right to the end. However, we were able to keep the ball down our end long enough to hold out for our first win at Woodville in 6 years.

Think that is a point many have missed today, it may have only been a small margin but its a very significant win in terms of finally breaking the Woodville hoodoo.

A very valuable win. The side keeps exceeding expectations. I wonder how many different players played today, compared to the corresponding time last year. Critical, game time for the younger players. Agreed (cennals) probably the most inexperienced backline we've had since 1964.

Very disappointing result today. Effort 9/10, skill execution 4/10.
Until the Eags can execute basic skills by hand and foot and hold tackles they will stuggle
Also, still a case to some degree of central players believing they can win compared to Eags hoping they can win.
No stand out players for us today IMHO.

In games of significance, I think your mob were the last to address this situation and it was almost 5 long years ago .. All other clubs are in the same boat I reckon, the belief out North is the stuff of legend.

Well done by Centrals senior reserves side today. A crap game, mistakes all over the place but what would you expect from such an inexperienced side? We can only get better.

Ed Sansbury take a bow. Sensational game and match winning goal.

The young kids/less experienced players stood up. Chris Musolino's best game for the club he did a great job on
mckenzie in the second half.Haydon and Menzel competed well.
Templeton and reichert were very composed down back.

Chad osullivan was great today best game of the year.

Uuuu dooggggsss!!!

Both Dad and I said this during the game as well. Good to see Chad constantly improve since his comeback.

Some intersting rumours about Menzel and why he didnt play in the under 18's carnival.

Please elaborate? His boo boo or badly managed by coaches etc?

Where does Menzel rate in terms of CDFC young debutants?

Great win, was getting all of the score updates on ABC on the way home from a beaut lunch at Swan Reach Hotel. There was a loud beep of the horn when news of Sansbury's goal came through.
Hope someone got a photo of Ed, Wilbur, Sonny and Gilby together after the game.
