I watched it, and I believe it was scripted to a point, and he just went too far... The only other time I recall that a mike got cut off was when the New Age Outlaws left TNA, and they were in the midst of tearing shreds off the company and naming "names..."

I generally don't watch WWPGE anymore, but watched the clip.
Without having any sort of background as to what led to the spot, it did seem like a 'worked shoot'.
Some pretty blunt comments which probably went beyond 'guidelines', but made it memorable.

Is he legitimately leaving?

It's an angle and a brilliant one at that.
And the most original for a looooooong time.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Admittedly wrestling is one giant "work", we all know that.

Anything that makes us ask the question, even for a second, as to whether or not it was real...

That is brilliant.

Agreed. Most people wont be aware that he left ROH for WWE as their Champ 6 years ago signing the WWE contract on their belt in an in ring promo. That promo is avail on you tube....
It is all a very clever work and i pray that they put the strap on CMP and i probably like Jonny Whitebread more than anyone else on this site. it just worries me that VKM may let Cena carry the belt the whole year until DwayneaMania :?

The first part you may have seen, the second follows on from the pre-taped Raw for next week.

Certainly an interesting one...

Punk put on 'indefinite leave' so Michael Cole told us on Smackdown.
If this is an angle, these guys deserve Academy awards.
Booker, Cole and the other one(?) were very convincing when they made this announcement.
This may have started out as an angle, but now I don't know.
I wonder whether he will show for the Australian shows?

The "update" on the WWE.com website contradicts what occured on the taping for next weeks RAW.

The WWE site said that he will only fulfil his non-televised obligations (live shows like the AUS tour), until his departure.

He did not feature on the taping for next week (sorry partial spoiler), so the FOLLOWING week, if he rocks up, whether it is just ignored what has happened, or if he "interrupts" RAW, then a work for sure.

But I think there is more than a little bit of truth here.

And I don't think we will see.

FWIW (spoiler here)

Next week Cena threatens to walk out if Punk doesnt get the match at MITB... Vince caves. In the meantime tho, ADR has won a number one contenders match, so either way, that's got to play into something
