Centrals won

Both times we have played, Centrals have taken full advantage of our mistakes. If we don't turn the footy over so much next time hopefully it will be a different scoreline.

Looking to the future, I think we have got more capacity for improvement than the Bloods...

You must have some good footballers missing, considering Centrals were with out P Jackson, G Hull , C Edson, A Grantham, G Kenny not to mention J Quigley when he is available in a few

Ha ha, you'll never get them all on the park at the same time. I hear Quigley is finished for the year anyway.

A Grantham & C Heron have not returned from injury, G Shirley was missing due to uni, B Jones has played the last couple in the B's, I think S Feltus is injured too but has only played once this year. I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

Important clash West v South this week boys, who's favourite mcgov & Gill?
Big 3 weeks for Solly playing the 3 augusta sides- still big rumours they are getting 3 in from whyalla - Parker Edey Jaritz - working in Pirie. Will need to be cleared b4 30 jun- any other late rumours?
2 complete rounds to go!

We had their measure last time but since then their form has been better than ours.
I believe they have also picked up a couple of recruits too.
Expect to see a different South this week, we are better than what we have shown so far and will prove it by winning on Sunday.
In the other games I'll tip an upset win for Sollies over Central by 18pts; and sorry Lions, there will be no upsets in your game, Port by 60-70pts.

If Westies play anything like they did against Ports on the weekend they probably would blow most sides out of the water there for i am tipping West in a close encounter 10pts

Duck Davies is to coach the Northern Cities - oops - Northern Zone again this year. He must have the same manager as Neil Craig

think its time for me to admit i was wrong about the pirie sides. obviously ports are going to be very hard to beat. if solomontown can pick up a couple of forwards they can be dangerous and lions well they are struggling and are not responding to anything.

I don't know all of them, but I think Price, Woolford, Burford & Schmidt would play in ANY association side.

They are in Duck's Northern Zone squad

Lindsay Bearman - Good young (21-22) footballer who played well on a wing last year
Tyrone Price - 2010 Medal winner, who is back after a stint trying to make West Adelaide. If he makes himself available, can be a handy in as he has size as either a mid-fielder or half back.
Ryan Morris - Has played in the carnival for Southern, The Riverland team & Northern. Most likely captain the team and will be Northern's main forward.
Matt Woolford - Made the state team from this carnival last year, was arguably B.O.G for SGL vs Whyalla.
Darren Shillabeer - Is one of the most gifted footballers and if switched on can be a huge difference. Can roost them from 60m no worries.
Jacob Neary & Thomas Underwood - 2 recruits to Ports this year, who have provided a big lift for the Dogs. Neary in & under mid-fielder & Underwood a CHF. Unsure if they will be available (They did play SGL)
Greg Phillips - A natural small goal kicker who has become a very good mid-fielder as well.
Michael Burford - Great tap ruckman who has performed in the championships at a high level in the past.
Ben Luteria - Good solid backman, who uses the ball well once he has beaten his opponent.
Lee Schmidt - Is starting to really show his quality, unsure if he will make himself available.
Ritchie Hobbs - CHB who has played in the carnival a few times, made the country team a few years back.
Jordan Warren - Tall mid-fielder who I actually thought was our best in the carnival last year.
Ryan Noll - Good utility player who will do a job down back or can use his strength in & under.
Ray Stapleton - Was the other player who was arguably B.O.G in the SGL vs Whyalla game. Good forward/mid-fielder.
Tyrone George - In & under mid-fielder who will give a 1st give. Young lad, who I hope gets a run.
Dean Steele - Plays across half back and sets up alot with his skills.
Clinton O'Connor - Wingman for Northern for a few years now, always gets in the mix.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

You 2 boys would be happy (7D & McG) with the weekend! What are your thoughts for this Sat (Port v South) - should be a good one at the Port. Sollies & West now becomes an even bigger game, clear 4th spot!
Fair comments ST - where will they get the forwards from, the window is fast closing!! What about Sawyer and where is Turner of late? May help up front.
Lions had a real crack in the 1st half on weekend.
Are Central out of 1st gear?

Yeah I'm happy with the result.
I'm expecting alot better performance vs the Pirie Dogs than what we displayed vs them in Round 4. A win is really needed if we are going to challenge for a top 2, as well as give our self some breathing room from 4th & 5th.
Turner was sick last week when they played Lions, but I assumed he played vs Centrals on Saturday.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

A good assessment. Not sure if Moris is Captain type. No second efforts in SGL game and gave away frees.(Richo he reminds me of when its not going good for him.) Dont forget Nolly-the most professional country footballer Ive seen.Woolford too - Played over the hills so would bring players together. Other options outside the SGL perhaps? Storick from Whyalla stood out to me in that game as a lead from the front type. What about fullas from the other comps.?
