Sweated on Jack Darling having a poor game as he was last player in play. i needed him to get a 46, he snags 53

Cruel Cruel Game!

The only way you get demoted is if you lose your relegation final. With the standings the way they are if you defeated FOOTYLEDGENS in the first round of the SC finals then you stay up. Remember it's not instant relegation for the top two divisions in the Hogg.

All hell broke lose in Hogg Premier this week and after the dust settled the only one laughing was Darksiders SCE who find themselves in a very comfy position atop the ladder with a nice two game buffer over a massive pack of contenders.

Far Q, the dismal REBCats and Poon Army dropped the ball this week but nobody seemed able to take advantage of this with Far Q and REBCats still remaining in the top four despite racking up truly Bunnyworthy stats during the last week. Hondo also spudded it up but somehow managed to scrape an invaluable win and cheeky bastard CoverKing must be wondering what he has to do to get back into the eight after recording a solid victory over the Blue_Guns. Here's a tip...beat dunks and Cub!

With so many teams bunched up around the middle and only five games remaining a lot would need to go right for Woodys Dropkicks and Hawkeye to make the finals but the Blue_Guns remain in the hunt. The relegation battle is also on for young and old with all of those teams hoping to get 13th spot and a crack at the easiest target in the bottom four Boxhead United. I reckon United and one other will go down and I get the feeling that Woody and Hawkeye might be able to stay up although that might be an early call.

The run to this year's finals will be the most closely contested one yet but to be honest boys right now Janie I'm about ready to chuck the whole stinking alphabet.

Did you have Bartel too REB?

Knights too?

I have only had one LTI trade in my midfield premiums over the previous 2 SC years. This year 3!

Hondo, you're not alone on being low on trades. I reckon there's a handful with 7-8 trades left.

Our man at the top, Darksiders SCE, has 8 trades left.

I am not going to trade again until after Cox and Sandilands have their byes. Then I'll downgrade a forward to Joel Tippett so I can play Petrie in my forwards. Until then, I have thrown away the key to the trade cupboard!

Annoyingly I let Otten go in round 6 for $220K. In hindsight, I could and should have held him. I have always had enough defenders playing each week.

I think my run home is easier than the games I have had

So I should be right to make the finals and then I'll take it from there

Hogg Premier Preview Round 11

Five rounds till finals folks and Hogg Premier is as tight as with a real traffic jam in the centre of the table. Only the Darksiders SCE can rest easy it appears with everyone else in the league either scrambling for top eight spots or to get out of the relegation zone.

The two big matches this week are the Hondominators YSCC vs. Squeakeroos DTC clash and The Ginger Ninjas up against Poon Army. With Dusty Tunnels expected to record a win this week the loser of the Gingernuts vs. Poon match could be really under the pump…as could Hondo or Squeaky. Dusty could climb quite a few spots this week which would be a good reward for some fairly consistent play.

REBCats vs. dunKsKrew

The REBCats will be looking to bounce back from last week’s disaster to record a much needed win against dunKsKrew. Unless I cop a third successive first quarter sub out I reckon I can win this one although Brent Harvey and Gary Ablett loom large this week. REBCats to turn the corner and get back on the winners list here.

Hawkeye vs. Mr Football

Both sides came off important victories last week but I wouldn’t give two bob for Hawkeye’s chances as long as Buddy Franklin is suspended. Pup can continue on his winning way here this week as I reckon Mr Football has this one in the bag.

Darksiders SCE vs. Blue_Guns

The Blue_Guns season will be on life support after he gets rolled this week by the top of the table Dark Side. With everyone cutting each other’s throats just to climb a few rungs on the ladder the Darksiders SCE can sit back a bit and have a few trades up his sleeve come finals time. Hopefully this team is struggling in another league so the Dark Side will need to keep burning trades. In this match it will be the Darksiders day and the Guns’ season could well be shot.

Dusty Tunnels vs. Boxhead United

This is the week for CoverKing to pounce. So far this season Dusty Tunnels haven’t been able to beat the lower teams but surely he can get the choccies in this match. Boxhead will be put back in the box at the end of this year and he might face a tough year in Division I next year as well because right now he is well and truly out of his depth. Dusty Tunnels to dig out a victory and move out of the traditional Richmond position on the ladder.

chardy socialists vs. Far Q

Far Q is one of many top eight sides to get the wobbles up in recent weeks and he must still be kicking himself over last week’s lost to Hondo. With his Pie army remobilised Q Man will make a much better account of himself and defeat the chardies in this match.

Hondominators YSCC vs. Squeakeroos DTC

The Squeakeroos DTC have flown under the radar at times this year but I reckon after this week that might be no longer possible. A shaky Hondo got the points last week but Squeaky appears to have the scoring power to make life difficult for the Hondominators. My tip for this match is a Squeakeroos victory.

The Ginger Ninjas vs. Poon Army

The Ginger Ninjas can announce themselves as a genuine top four team this season with a solid win over a suspect Poon Army. The Poon have been living on borrowed time in recent weeks but against the Ninjas time is up and Hammo will soon be out of the eight. The Ginger Ninjas should account for Poon Army in this one.

FOOTYLEDGENS vs. Woody's Dropkicks

The Cub has had a comeback of sorts in the last couple of weeks with two wins which have rekindled the FOOTYLEDGENS season. Woody however, has lost the winning way which he briefly got back and now faces a clash that is pivotal to his chances of making the finals. If Woody's Dropkicks lose this one they are probably gone for the year. I reckon Woody can win this one though as I reckon Cub won’t get much change out of Gibbs OR Hurn as Gibbs will probably be assigned to clamp down on Hurn who has been scoring well in since The Cub traded him in two games ago.

Happy Hogging and good luck to everyone except Duncs......

The SC Gold analyser has me 150 behinds behind Squeakaroo and that's not taking into account if Bartel misses which I assume he will.

Yes I've benched Bartel entirely incase someone else goes down in my mids. I ended up playing Smith over Iles not much in it IMO. Geelong included Selwood on an extended bench for the Freo game back in Round 2 but he didn't get selected you might remember.

Good choice in Smith REB. Pity i didn't make the same decision.

Good move REB. Read this today:

"Jimmy Bartel is named in the 22 but a final call on his fitness will be made tomorrow and Cats football manager Neil Balme conceded on radio today "on balance he probably won't (play)"."

Emergencies would be factored in for any donuts, providing they are players from completed games.

I reckon you've lost the game though Duncs. Unlucky that Harvey got a good tag.
